Disappointing run but I still ran!!

After Monday’s happy hopeful post I was all geared up to run this morning. I’d intended to run yesterday by MOTs and general life got in the way so I laid my gear out ready last night before bed. This morning I was up and in my gear and downstairs before I could change my mind. I had to untie the sitting room door ( tied to the coatrack in hall to stop the cats opening the door and coming upstairs at night).

I fed the cats, giving Luna her meds in her Lickelix ( stupid name but it’s the only way I have found to get her to take them...only one more dose tomorrow and that should be it 🤞). Then I took my tablets, did my inhaler, had a banana, set up my headphones and I was off!!! Walking at first till I got clear of the town I was looking about, enjoying the morning, cool, slightly damp/Misty which is usually my fav running weather, hardly anyone around -just the recycling lorries..... and then I was running..... and it hurt!!!!

The back of my thighs hurt, my feet were stiff, and my legs weighed about 6 stone each!!!! It was horrible. My breathing was ok but I think that was because I couldn’t go very fast. I ran for 2 and half minutes and had to walk for a bit. Then I tried again and managed about 5 mins before I had to walk. I nearly gave up then but I was determined to make it worthwhile being out and I managed to struggle on to 18 minutes total- with 2 more little walks. I was so useless I could barely walk home. And I have absolutely no idea why!!

I’d eaten well last night, rump steak, potato gratin, sprouts, carrots, peas. ....hydrated well yesterday and had a glass of water before I left home this morning ...had. 7 1/4 hours sleep which is pretty good for me ... no idea at all. I’d not had a particularly strenuous day yesterday - just Pilates and a gentle stroll in the afternoon.

So I’m just drawing a line under it and I will be out again on Saturday - new day new run 😄

You still ran so well done you! I had one of those runs on Tuesday, it was horrible. I drew a line under it and have just come back from a much nicer run. All the best 😀🏃‍♀️👏🏼.

That’s how I’m thinking now

Just did a Pilates class to loosen up afterwards and feel much more positive now

Like others have already said - you got out there and gave it a go! The next one will make up for it no doubt.
