3rd week of my 5-week Running and Workout Plan coming up!

So I am about to finish my 2nd week of my running program. In week 2 I explored new runner experiences like belly dancing, or running with Coach Bennett. And also revisited old, comfy ways of running, like doing a 5k with nothing more than my favourite music and Runkeeper’s announcements. That was this cold morning, in drizzling, refreshing rain and having successfully layered 2 T-shirts (inner wicking, outer long sleeved) and then a sleeveless hoodie.

Tomorrow a day of rest and then on to week 3!

Things I look forward to in week 3? Two 30-min audio-coached runs on Runkeeper with Erin! Also really intrigued to try out Runkeeper’s announcement voice named: “Your Conscience”. I’ll have RK set to get “my conscience” tell me something every 5 minutes for a 60 min run.

And of course I always look forward to returning to Laura’s Strength&Flex once per week. Gentle enough, it’s the workout where I can really experience the progress made. (10 bench dips? No problem anymore!) I even got a pull-up bar installed to do the workout indoors during winter!

And new workout is the NHS 45min Aerobics session. Not sure it will be as fun as the Belly-Dancing, but looking forward to seeing if I can do that.

Onwards and upwards. But first, a rest day tomorrow... although I might do some foam rolling sessions.

Happy running everyone!

Thank you! Yes it’s nice to spend the time not on a run planning for a run! 🤣🤣🤣 And I’m learning so much new stuff on here, so it’s been a brilliant 6-months journey so far. 👌🏼👏🤝👍

Thank you! Yes, I needed a plan as I wanted to explore so many things I heard in this forum... 👍🤝👏 so it was the forum which actually inspired me to get planning! Thank YOU ! 😊 🙏

Gosh, you are so organised and it’s paying off 👍🏼😃. I love to read your plans. It is encouraging me to think about widening my scope and to try and mix things up a little, although I don’t think I’m up to your level of organisation. I am a girl who likes a plan however, as once a teacher, always a teacher. I might have a look at your links for the exercises too. 😊 Keep it up CBDB, you are doing brilliantly 😃.

Awhhh, thank you.

There is almost too much to experience in the runner’s world, and starting so late in life with this, planning might just help me to ‘catch up’ 😊🤣

You're making so much progress, well done.

Thank you. In parts I think:

Bench dips 👍🏼

Loose weight 👎🏼

Make running a habit 👍🏼

Get faster 👎🏼

Delight in running and workouts 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

So all good considering, but loosing weight would be great, as well. 😠

W3 D3 ✔️ and after 2 days rest W3 D4 ✔️ For the last 3 days I felt ultra tired. Could be falling temperatures, light levels, running out of iron supplements, too much skipping of rest days, or I also still wonder if we accidentally switched decaf tea with normal tea. 🤣 Anyway. After a good 2 days test (and looking jealously at the sunny mornings pass me by) I started with Laura‘s Strengths & Flex. Was good to be back and quite soothing to listen to that familiar voice.

W3 D5✔️ After some days of rest (feeling exhausted and tired for a few days) today back with 2nd fastest 5k. Ran to my 145 bpm music which worked well.
