Ok, so today I felt like a recovery run. My knees have been a tiny wee bit niggly after my interval run on Sun, so recovery sounded good before going for another interval and then 10k on the weekend.
But of course I couldn’t just do the simple thing, but had to mix my left over run from week 1 with my new run week 2…. yes … stay with me…😉
I put on the podcast GrooveElectric - Funky Train for my music (which is in my plan as the music for one of my week 2 recovery runs), and realised I could add an NRC audio coached run on top. And what do you know, the one not chosen from week 1 happened to be a recovery run: NRC’s Running for More (30 min).
And the result was one of my most enjoyable runs I had for a long time! And I’ve had also quite some enjoyable runs in the period.
So why was it such a delicious short 30 min run?
- first, because Coach Bennett exactly asked that? “Think about all the ways a run feels brilliant” and why?
- Was it the bounce? Helped by the great groovy music? Yes it was!
- The coolness of the morning with the tiniest of sunshine warming up the snippets of path not shadowed by the overhanging trees?
- Was it the friendly dog walkers I recognise from all my runs, responding to my friendly thumbs up with a joyful wave?
And as Coach Bennett was joking with me, even rolling his eyes at me, I ran a glorious 30 min run!
The freshness, happiness and energy followed me all day.
Happy running days everyone!
