Sneak Preview: My new 5-Week Running & Workout Plan

Well, I’m really excited to start my new Running & Workout Plan and the screenshot is a sneak preview of what my first two weeks will look like!

I really had fun putting this together, and my criteria were:

- they should result in fun runs (e.g. mostly Japanese slow running, and explore diff’t free running apps)

- one long run per week will slowly increase in distance

- discover diff‘t coached runs but they have to be free

- make use of available NHS and other free workout videos

- less than 12 weeks, which felt a bit too long. I settled on a series of 5 week plans

- days of the week do not matter, and the rest day could be anywhere

- one ‘long’ run per week, min 5k, but this can be any run of the week to ensure long runs can fall on the weekend

This morning, I started off the journey with a 40min workout (see my review here on the Str & Flex Forum healthunlocked.com/strength... ).

And tomorrow, it’s Zombie time! Can’t wait!

Very good CBDB, nice mixture you’ve got there. Love the Zombie App and NRC app. That should keep you busy 👍

Yup! And some other exciting weeks to come as well, but shan’t tell...🤫

Of course, every week I’m on here, there seems to be another idea from the community that I will need to somehow integrate into my plans .... 📝

I’ll simply have to spend the rest of my life running and planning runs ... 🤗

W1 D3 ✔️ Laura‘s NHS Strength and Flex 30 min workout.

As it looked like a sunny dawn, I headed out to the garden. Lovely fog coming off the fields. Chicken nowhere to be seen, so either sleeping late or 🦊 😳

And this workout feels easy after the 40min Wakeup-workout on day 1, so good choice for that midweek recovery. (Also has only 10 bench dips rather than 50😳)

W1 D5✔️? Another round of NHS Wake-Up Workout was due, but somehow the audio stopped working before I even started. (I’m using a web browser on a PS4 to make this work).

By the time I fiddled with all sorts of settings, the clock had been ticking away and by then I only had 40 min for a workout, before shower and heading of to work.

Rather then having the kefuffle of setting up laptop or iPhone, I switched to YouTube and did two 10min cardio workouts from Pahla B Fitness.

Not 100% satisfied with that, but it’ll have to do. Pahla B is ok, and I like her as she is one of the few fitness instruct in my age group. She also focussed on indoor running oriented exercises. So good, but boy do I not like it when my ever-so-perfectly designed plan goes pear shaped because of a small technical glitch!

W1 D6 ✔️ Short run today as I did a long run D1. Drill instructor did not show up😤 but default Kat did. 😚 will need to change 📝 instructions to say long run can be any in week.
