It seems to me that during this pandemic, several regular posters have gone totally quiet.
It would be wrong to name names, but if you recognise yourself it would be great to have a word from you, be it good news or bad news or no new news at all.
This really is a community 🤗

You may have read a post from me last week wondering where a very regular runner to this forum a few years ago had gone quiet had gone, I e mailed him with no response, anyway, many runners graduate and don't run again, which is a pity, I have e mailed some of them privately and the ones who have replied have told me that basically they find running too hard or have not got the time to run.
Tomorrow I hope to run 8 Kilometres, which will be my longest run for 2 months since I ran 16k/10 miles in July.
I’ve been a member of these forums for over seven years and have seen so many people pop up, post profusely and then drop off the face of the earth ☹️ There are only a handful of us still here. It’s quite sad really and I hope they are still running but my feeling is that a lot of people do too much too soon and then either get injured and give up or get a bit lost.
There is a FB group for graduates and beyond and I think many people keep in touch on Strava but I don’t do those so my only way of contact is here, which is why I’m still here plus I love making new running friends along the way 🙂
You’re so right HF - I was thinking exactly the same only yesterday! If you’re lurking but not posting anymore, stay well and I hope you’re still enjoying whatever running you can do!
Did so well initially, got up to 7-8k loving it, and then bang, issues with my hip, started hurting around 25mins in, not sure if it is an old groin injury but it kicks in around the 20-25min mark. So I have tried various strength exercises to no avail, then I dropped the running to twice a week, but still no better. Then down to once a week to rest it, so I am doing cycling to get out and about but it's not the same☹
Went for 20mins monday, really slow but stamina wise I felt like I could have kept going but had to stop on several occasions due to discomfort, so i did some squats that seemed to loosen the problem area to allow me to carry on.
Been stiff from DOMS since, purely due to loosing condition , even though I did my usual stretches.🤷♀️
I am going to try another short run today, I cant bear to think of letting all my hard work since April go to waste, I am trying to fight off the couch but my body seems to have other ideas🤬
Thanks Heavyfoot, this is such a positive site, I hate to post anything negative😉
Anyway went for the my run this morning, even though the world was conspiring against me, just as I walked out the door it started to rain, not going to let that stop me, my phone wouldn’t recognise me🤯 so had to mess around to get my apps running, off I go...
Dog walker, eeeaakkk, large dog decides to chase me down the road, luckily the owner reals him in, phew, near miss.
First km done then my phone rings, headset doesn’t want to pick up call, have to faff around with handset again to pick up, pull out earpieces and try to have a cohearant conversation with a friend while still trying to run👍 Call completed phone and earpieces put back in place, time for me😊
3k run, slowly, with only a slight twinge, wet from head to toe but strangely happy😆😁
Don’t know how I missed your post 4 days ago. That does sound like one of “those” runs where everything goes wrong!! Just chalk it up on the experience board and get ready for future joys and calamities!!
