9K in the bag - woo hoo!

Inspired by Gingernutter 's post earlier I realised that I had procrastinated enough and it was time to strike this one off the list.

I chose a route I dont normally do (a bit like all those contestants on Come Dine With Me who cook something for the first time - "why??) and it was hilly ....really hilly but where there is an up there is a down and with hills this is good.

I got a thumbs up from a man in the park - he had a can of beer in his hand but you know what they say ..... "everything looks better after a drink or two" ;-) It took me 1.08 and I wimped out on running home once my wrist had buzzed for the 9K mark - I felt a little guilty about this whilst experiencing the adrenalin rush, but not now haha! Its the furthest Ive ever run though so I am happy..... and only a week to go before my 10K race.

Thanks Shaky it’s always easier to look back on it as an achievement than at the time I find 😊

Thank you. Is it acceptable to eat way too much chocolate and have a little sleep to celebrate the PB’s? Yes? Oh that’s good then 😂

Yaaay that’s fantastic 👍🏻🎉🎉🎉 nearly there 10k 🏅 and why do they cook something for the first time 🤣🤣🤣

Thank you - I don’t know why they do it, it strikes me as madness, but my cooking skills are debatable anyway so maybe it’s just me that needs a lot of practice! 😂😊

Fantastic, well done. If you did a cool down walk on the way back home that was good use of the time. I find a longer walk after a longer run saves some aches.

Good luck for your race.

Thanks Baddie - it was probably another 1k home (next time I’ll round up the run for the 10) so it probably did help 😊

Thanks Ted - as you know it’s not been the straightest path but I’ve always been grateful for your encouragement. Hopefully you are well and still enjoying the running 😊

I’m good Emma, still putting the miles in. I’m doing the Brighton Half on Sunday so watch this space when I put the post up 😊

You’ve all but cracked the 10k.....keep it up girl 🏃‍♀️ 🤗

Are you on Strava?

Ted that’s amazing - hope it goes really well for you. Yes I’ll look you up on Strava. I only post sporadically on there. Good luck for Brighton.

Thanks - I have attempted one in the past but walked some of it - a lot of my running in advance of this was on a treadmill but

This time round I am doing more road running which I think is helping 😊
