Woo hoo we are running

Last run was um I had to check, 15 May, not sure why but we’ve had a lot of wind and rain and oh well excuses, one day I was late home from work and the rest of the time tired and achey....that happens when I don’t run 🙄

Then on Friday we got a kitten 🐱 so working weekend taken up with work and playing with kitten and children round to introduce Collie to kitten.

so this morning we got ready, tried to put music on and found that both our watches had been logged out of music so we sat on the bed and sorted them out, out the door in the car and the batteries ran out on my headphones, oh well,

Off to the park and OMG 😳 every body else was there!!! aren’t they supposed to be at the shops cafes bars and hairdressers?

So where to go? Willow took us to the industrial estate our weekend preferred route, well fine when no one is at work, but no where to park and lorries everywhere.

Home again home again, walked through local park and started running round the roads, 20 minutes later and nearly home,

Shame it was dustbin day, in and out round the bins outside all the houses, but the birds were singing, every so often joined by Willow as his headphones still worked,

This is the first time Willow just ran round the roads so I am super pleased, the first part was mostly upwards and then once we’d headed fir home it was slightly downwards, legs felt good, breathing nice and steady and speeded up a little for second kilometre at 8.47 😀

Garmin says I’m 45 yes old and tape measure says Ive lost an inch on waist and hips 😲

Of course I have to post a kitten photo.

Happy running all

Nice run but I am so happy that you took a photo of your new kitten, she/he looks very like the kitten that my daughter got around a year ago, of course, Hero which is the name she gave to her new kitten is now a fully grown cat, have you named your new kitten?

SueAppleRun profile image

It’s good to have a mini break every now and then . The weather would have been perfect without the wind today, but I will take dry and sunny.

SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to Dexy5

It’s drying the washing nicely though, bit cloudy but lovely not to be cold

That is one darling little kitty 🐱 lucky you

It sounds like you've had perfectly good reasons for not running, especially getting a kitten 😺 😊 Hope the kitten / collie introduction went well. And now you've both got back out there even if you did have to hunt for a route to use. Sounds brilliant to me

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to dijep

The main thing was getting Willow to come out and run round the roads with me, the twenty minute runs mean we may go again tomorrow. The collie and kitten were both a bit fascinated and scared of each other but they’ve met 3 times now and seem ok with each other, the collie loves cats but their cat and my old boy weren’t at all interested in him but Parker the kitten is

Good run and such a sweet little kitten!

Aww your kitten is so lovely! We got a rescued kitten in December who is still a really small cat. Her mum was found in an abandoned caravan that was due to get crushed and it was the workmen doing a final check that saw her with 3 kittens. The cat protection league captured them then had to go back the next day for a 4th kitten which we ended up getting. She is such a lot of fun!

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to tmbtrain

That’s a lovely thing, the rescues are still closed round here or i would have gone there

tmbtrain profile image
tmbtrainGraduate10 in reply to SueAppleRun

Yeah I think it was because it was such an emergency that we got her

Our kitten called Toast sitting on the stairs.

She’s gorgeous, do you know when they stop grabbing at your hands? mine are scratched lol

tmbtrain profile image
tmbtrainGraduate10 in reply to SueAppleRun

Just a few more months! I know that feeling so well and hand gel finds every single scratch that you didn't even know you had 🙃

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to tmbtrain

Oh yes doesn’t it just? I’ve had today off work but my every 20 minutes gel or wash is going to sting lol 😂

Glad you enjoyed your run both of you. I don’t like running among lots of people either that’s why I go early morning before school runs and people going to work. Your kitten looks likes a little ball of fur😊

SueAppleRun profile image

With very sharp claws, yes i’d like to go early but i get up for work really early most days so sleep in on days off
