6k in the bag

Hi running buddies- went out hoping for a 7k this morning on juju's training plan but only managed just over 6k- had to cope with too many hot flushes and felt too uncomfortable so called it a day. Felt disappointed that I caved in today's long run but when I got back home and looked at my stats I am running quicker than my last 6k run although it didn't feel like it at all today!!! It's not the fastest time in the world but it's a lot faster than doing nothing which I was doing before c25k ๐Ÿ˜

My time was 49 mins for 6k today so plenty of room for improvement and plan to continue on juju's plan to 10k- it just might take me a little longer to get there!!

Off on holiday soon and will be taking my running kit with me- husband thinks I'm mad!!! I have a cunning plan to get him started on the c25k soon tho๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Happy weekend running peeps๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŽฝ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ

Ooh let me know how your plan works! I want to get my OH out there too but heโ€™s having none of it ๐Ÿ˜†. And well done on your run - you got out there which is the important thing. X

You got out there that's what matters ... and don't forget 6k is still a long run!

A word of warning about getting your OH running.

Although it's lovely to share the same interest don't be surprised if very soon he's faster than you! I know that from personal experience.

We now run at the same time but not together ... he starts several minutes after me and gradually catches up. I like it because I know he'll find me if I end up in a ditch (or worse!) and he likes it because he's more competitive than me and enjoys the 'chase'.

Good luck with your 7k run ... keep up the good work ... happy running!

Lol Wizziewood-am.happy.to.support him thru c25k but I don't like running with anyone else really as I see it as MY time- so once he's done it he will be on his own๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

It's not long since you graduated, so just take your time Cotswold-runner - it doesn't have to be done in 8 weeks. How about aiming for 6.5 this week and seeing how that goes. A few people have done it by 500m increases. Well done on the 6k; every run is good for the body even though it's not what you aimed for. Well done

Spot on Dexy5 - that's what I'm.gonna do!!! I will move juju's training up each week by 0.5km- and even though I thought I was running snail pace slow it was a speedier snail than last week๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒ

Donโ€™t be disheartened, I think doing that distance is superb, and the 7k and beyond will come as you continue to consolidate. Good luck with hubby and enjoy your holiday ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž
