9k in the bag...πŸ˜ƒπŸƒβ€β™€οΈβ€οΈ

Today’s 9k went surprisingly OK. Decided to run from the gym, leaving workmen behind in the house ripping out our bathroom. (The gym has showers. Our house only has a kitchen sink and a toilet for the next 2 weeks! 😳) Despite it looking pretty overcast, having to run late morning proved hot and humid. Very glad I took my hydration vest with me with 500ml in the bladder - I drank it all!

Decided to try the canal towpath for my run, but also discovered a wide, well-tarmaced β€œgreenway” route that must have been an old railway line. Will give that one a go for my short run / intervals, as the towpath was pretty narrow in places. (I was a bit worried I’d land in the canal while letting bikes pass!)

For some daft reason, finishing at the gym meant I then decided to do a gym workout in my sweaty running stuff. Got home much later and rather worn out! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

So if I’ve got this right you went to the gym, ran 9k and then did a workout 😳 No wonder you needed a shower πŸ˜‚ Excellent. You are one fit chick πŸ˜‚

Think I looked like I’d already had a shower after the run, Brian! I was dripping...πŸ˜‚ Only did weights, but was surprisingly harder than normal!

Well done, It is easy sometimes to forget just how far it is! Lovely pics tii, must find a canal path to run down, it looks like just my kind of territory, flat! 😁πŸ’ͺπŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Thanks Steve - I certainly needed the water for that length. ❀️ Once I’ve got to 10k I’m hoping to work on consistent pace more, as I currently get gradually slower the longer I run for. Lovely and flat, though - and I discovered I do at least run faster than canal boats under motor! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Decided to head away from Chester, Floss, as I thought it would be quieter. Lovely countryside that you don’t appreciate as much from the roads. 😊❀️

Nowhere near as speedy as you, Paula! I’m really embracing my inner snail with each added km! πŸ˜‚β€οΈ

I prefer snail like to speedy MD. Much more enjoyable. I'm going to France for a week so I'm planning to run/crawl my 9km on my knees.... Here's hoping you won't need to embrace your inner skunk during the next 2 weeks ;)

Nope - I’ll just be going to the gym a lot more than normal! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‡πŸ˜Š

Think I probably look more like a machine in need of winding up by the end of 9k, Lorijay! A guy stopped and waited holding his dog just before I finished. He laughed when I apologised that I couldn’t get past him any faster at this point! πŸ˜‚πŸŒπŸŒ

I am so glad to hear that the 🐌 applies in B210k as well. Phew!

Definitely! I was aiming to go slower for longer runs, and seemed to achieve that spectacularly by the end of yesterday’s! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸŒπŸŒ

Are you the new bionic woman? God lord! I did my W5R2 (4K) tonight and that was hot, humid and slow!!!

Well done you! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ - I’ve got my 9k on Wednesday..... I’ll be thinking of you to pull me through!

Congratulations x

Thanks Mitch - you’ll do fine, don’t worry. It’s just like trusting the C25k plan - this one works too! πŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈβ€οΈ

(If you sweat as much as me then I’d highly recommend taking 500ml water with you...)

Well done sounds like a great run - pictures are great. It’s one of the nice things about running - finding new places to explore πŸ˜€

Thanks Paul. I was pretty boring with my routes for C25k, but feel confident enough to branch out more now I can run further. 😊❀️

Thanks - I just hate not using the gym once I’ve driven there! As I’m going to be having showers there everyday, this could be a very active fortnight! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Š

You know, this is one reason I thought about swimming - we have frequent water outages and I have ended up showering at work one too many times, so I kept being near the swimming pool ... it was inevitable that I'd give it another go one day!

Your run and workout - I'm knackered reading about them! Pictures are lovely, what a nice place to run.

Thanks icklegui - yes, a lovely place to run. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈβ€οΈπŸ˜Š

My husband will be showering at work for the next 2 weeks - I’ll just be going to the gym a lot! I used to swim regularly, but found I just stank of chlorine all the time then. Better than smelling of sweat I guess, but the only pool I use it at the gym, so I may as well use their showers once I’m there...πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Š

Great run and great photos too. I love canal boats - I used to clean the returning holiday boats as a Saturday job many years ago - occasionally we got to paint them - happy days!

There great, aren’t they. I went past quite a few moored up. All beautifully painted. We’ve an interesting boat museum nearby in Ellesmere Port, which has some fascinating old canal boats. 😊❀️
