Just a quick update, this mornings run was FAB-U-LOUS darling!!! Saturday should've been run day so I was going to do the park run and just keep on running the extra bit but, to be honest, i wimped out when I saw how rainy it was, i knew the park would be muddy so I abandoned that and when I saw the state of the runners I was glad I had...it was like a zombie apocalypse across the road!!! So I thought I would postpone my run to my favourite time to run in the whole wide world....Sunday morning. But when my ears woke up, i could hear the wind in the chimney from the fireplace in mý bedroom...i looked out of the window and it looked like it had been raining sticks!! It was like treemageddon!!! There were branches down, twigs and sticks everywhere...the wind was gusting at about 40mph...no way was I going running in this...I'd have been like a leaf in that wind...I might be ended up somewhere over the flipping rainbow!! So, again, my run was postponed to my next favourite time to run in the whole wide world...Monday morning...
Well, what a difference a day makes?! I don't know about where you are but this morning Yorkshire is basking in sunshine...and rainbows, it is a truly stunning day...I could not WAIT to get parked up and start my last run of week 1, so I headed off down into town, fed the parking meter it's breakfast and off I flipping well went...I had a real spring in my step...Bevlar bridge was looking particularly inviting this morning...the ducks were messing about in the water, there were loads of dog walkers, folk on bikes and people out just generally enjoying this beautiful day...which made me think of SaskAlliecat and Bluebirdrunner whos posts about the positives in their runs inspired this run today...there were so many positives in this run there's too many to list...the world was a beautiful picture this morning and I was so grateful and glad to be part of it.

I'm so glad I waited until today too...the sunshine and cold wind combined do something to me I can't explain!!! There's been a full rainbow every day for 3 days over brighouse...I love them. Once the end of the rainbow looked like it ended in the park across the road so me and the children went to look for it...it was so cute!! X
Well done Bev good to see you still running. I bypassed B210K and went straight over to the race support forum when I started training for a HM around a year ago so lost touch with people from C25K who migrated to here instead
Hey Whatsapp ...I wondered where you'd got to!!! Half marathons??!!!! Phew...just saying that tires me out!!! You have come.on leaps and bounds...it fab to hear that someone who's been around since I started is doing so well!! You'll have to keep in touch with us on here from time to time x
Yes, I was led to believe I may have to give up running if my injury didn't get better. During the time back on the couch I promised myself I would run the local HM if I was able to run again. That was nearly a year ago and I am going back again this year. There nothing to make you want something more than to be told you can't have it, eh?
Good decision Mummycav, it sounds like your weather oop north has been very different to ours. What a wonderful run you had today and week 1 is now done and dusted.
Oh Bev, that sounds magical, you were so right to wait and be rewarded with this glorious day! Well done on completing week 1 in style. 👍 And “treemageddon” made me LOL! 😂 This running lark definitely helps us to appreciate the beauty of all seasons, eh? Before I ran I would basically hibernate most of winter, only venturing out when the daffodils popped up!
Honestly....I do not mind the weather at all these days...I was born in August and always thought I was born to live in the sunshine but now, well, I just love the outdoors! I don’t know where the old me has gone!?! X
Fantastic Mummycav!! 😁😁 And what a beautiful place to run!! Well done for your wise intuition to postpone! You wouldn’t have wanted to miss that amazing feeling!!
I’m so glad I hung on...and yes, the canal is such a lovely place, so much to see and hear, I love to take it all in when I’m there...and your a star too 🌟, your posts are fabulous!! X
Hurrah! You deserve every single second of that wonderful run. Savour and remember it all for when the chips are down (hopefully never again, but as we know it's a funny old game this running lark). Perfect start as well, it's an omen! It's all going to go your way MC, your time has come for a perfect 10k xx
Aw, Thankyou Fishypieface , it’s lovely to hear from you. You’re right, of course, we need to remember the good runs because really, they far outweigh the bad ones don’t they? I can feel this 10k hiding somewhere! 😊 xxx how are you? Xx
Good thanks x. Planning a come back which has been slightly scuppered by my stupid brain and aching, ageing body!! It's in my mind now though, so hopefully the rest will follow! Will keep you posted x
Thankyou Flaraflarkin , I’m so glad I’ve got my mojo back...I was so down when it went awol...but I can feel it’s on a mission now and raring to get to that 10k! Xx
I loved reading that, you are so enthusiastic again 🤗.
I did a very windy run last week, no choice really, at one point it was like something from The Matrix, I was sure I was moving, but then again pretty certain I was in the same place, apart from my hair which had wrapped itself around my face!!.
Glad you had such a great run, and in such a lovely place.
Lol...I can imagine you in black clothing running along, with a hair mask!! Wind is better when it's behind you...running into the wind is like someone's band is on your forehead pushing you back!!! Hard work so well done you!
Just seen this Mummcav. That is what I call a post!!! So full of mojo it should be prescribed as medication for anyone going through a miserable patch. Made me start the day with a smile. Thanks so much 😊💪🌞
Haha...that's so kind of you!!! Some runs are just like that aren't they, where you just enjoy ever minute of it...and I just can't wait to tell everyone!! Glad I put a smile on your face Beachcomber66 ...great to start the day with a smile x
That picture says it all! How gorgeous us that? Delaying your run to a nicer day is sometimes critical and I'm glad you did. It made for a wonderful run and a great start to the week! Yay!
