This morning I ran for the second time my local Community Cumbernauld 10K in a personnel best time of 1:07:38, my last PB 10K was almost 3 years ago in a time of 1:08:44, I had a 70 minutes pacer with me but he was running at a faster pace hence that time, 5K split was just over 34 minutes, it should have been 35 minutes, he kept asking me if I was ok, I replied ".I am fine", at the end he told me that my time was less than 68 minutes, it was, I was given a time slip of the time above which is correct, however, on the official results page it shows a wrong time of 1:13:30, I hope that will be corrected later.
PB for 10K: This morning I ran for the second... - Bridge to 10K
PB for 10K
Goodness Al, that's great, hope they correct the official time later
Hope you get the correct time ALMorr. Great time.
✅🏃The correct time was the slip time I got at the finishing line.
PS Doris8, some other results of the run I was at are also wrong, in fact they have got mixed up with last year on the official results page, my slip time is correct, however, it shows results of runners who were NOT there today, yesterday at parkrun one of the runners told me she would be in Edinburgh on Sunday doing the annual Edinburgh Kilt Walk, a photo on her Facebook page shows her doing that, but the run I was at today shows the same person running in a time of around 1:17 minutes, again that's wrong.
Sometimes people pass their race numbers on to other people without telling the organisers. Maybe that’s what happened with your friend.
Congrats on the new PB. You can be really proud of your run today, whatever the time says on the website.
Absolutely fantastic running Al. Huge congratulations to you on your new 10K PB. That’s an amazing achievement.
Sounds like someone got in a right pickle with those "official" results. Am sure it will all get sorted out.Congratulations on a fantastic PB Al
Many congratulations, Al, on your FABULOUS PB! Great running and an amazing achievement 👏👏👏🎉🥳🎊🍾
Huge congratulations 🥂! What a fantastic time! Celebrate your PB!
Fantastic run my friend... HUGE well done you.... ! You did wonderfully, whatever speed... and you know the correct one
Thanks Floss, I enjoyed that PB 10K run, compared to the Great North Run where it takes some runners 66 minutes from the gun to get to the start line it only took me 6 seconds from the gun starting the run to me crossing the start line.
Well done AlMorr always a great run for you and brilliant time. 👏👏👏👍😀x
Thanks Folkylass, when I got to the football stadium where the run starts I got my BIB number, the run started exactly at 11 o'clock in nice weather, the route then went along closed roads for the first 6 kilometres, through some nice countryside, just after 6K it joins the route that I run a lot of my other 10Ks off road around Broadwood Loch, through woods , the last kilometre is the first kilometre but the opposite direction and ends in the same football stadium where it started, that's the reason I got my correct result so quickly, after I got my medal I walked over to a van where I got my result which of course I was very pleased with.
🍏🙌🏃♂️Well done Al!! Oh they must correct that for sure!!! What a run!! Congratulations 🥳
Fantastic time 👍
Oh well done Al! All those runs previously have been brilliant training for this. Hope you get the timing issue sorted quickly ❤️
Thanks IP and also congratulations to you on completing your 10K sub 60 minutes, I also hope the timing issue will be sorted quickly. ✔️✔️
Well done on your 10k.
As for timings, surely the official time in a chip-timed race is the time automatically generated by the RFID or NFC chips? See here: perfecttimingscotland.co.uk... Otherwise what's the point of chip timing?
Indeed Cmoi, at the finishing line it was the perfecttiming Scotland slip I got telling me of my PB of 1:07:38, it seems strange that the official result for me and other runners was different, it even showed results of people who I know didn't even take part in that event race.
Well done, that’s great 👏🏽
That is an amazing time Al - you must be absolutely buzzing! 🥳🥇🎖️🏅
I certainly was buzzing at the end of that run, especially when I saw what the time was, it's almost 3 years since my previous 10K PB of 68:44, yesterday was even better at 67:38 🏅✅👍
In 3 weeks time I will be running the 10K version of the Great Scottish Run, I have been allocated to run between 75 and 80 minutes so no PB on that run.
You might have been allocated to that time slot but that doesn’t mean you have to stick to that time, surely? Might be another PB coming up!!! 😉
Who knows but I'am not sure if I want to go all out on a strange course with thousands of other runners, the route I ran on Sunday is very familier to me and there were less than 300 running, I will see how the Great Scottish Run goes, the main thing is to enjoy it which I hope I will.
I hope the organisers sort everyone’s results out soon Al but in the meantime you know what your time was and you can bask in the glory of your PB - well done you!
Congratulations on your new 10k PB AlMorr - fab time!💪👏🙂
Congratulations on the PB!!!Have you changed or increased your training recently to earn it or do you think it is the culmination of years of consistent running? I am interested as it feels like a really long time since my last pb and it's time I got cracking!
However you achieved it, Congratulations 🎊 👏 on a great run!🏃♂️
Thanks Week7, not really increased the amount of training I do, I walk a lot, do other exercises at home, 'only' run two times a week, usually a Saturday and Wednesday although this week it will be 3 times, Sunday, Wednesday and parkrun on Saturday. It took 2 years to get a sub 33 PB at Palacerigg parkrun and nearly 3 years to get that 10K PB on Sunday, it's also ages since I got a sub 31 minute time at parkrun, this coming Saturday marks about 5 years since my PB ever at parkrun of 30:09 at Drumpellier parkrun which is the parkrun I am going to this week, I doubt if I can beat that.
Sounds like you have a really good mix of activities. I too walk lots but think maybe I need to bring I some strength exercise perhaps!I hope that you enjoy your Parkrun on Saturday whatever the results. 🏃♂️
I was a marshall at parkrun last Saturday as I will be a marshall on the Saturday the day before The Great Scottish Run, believe it or not I have never ran on consecutive days, lol, I'm still in C25K mode,
PS, my. CORRECT time in now on the official results page of the 2024 Cumbernauld 10K. ✅✅✅
Excellent news!!
You know Week 7 that I have now run 54/10K's most of which have been ran on average at around the 1 hour 11/13 minutes time, only 4 including last Sunday's and a year ago at the same event have been sub 70 minutes, those two runs I had a pacer with me, however, I never had a pacer with me for my previous PB of 1:08:44 in November 2021 when I used my old smartphone as a timer, one other sub 70 minutes 10K was run in a time of 1:09:50 which was the second virtual Vitality London 10.000 in May 2022. I have a 🏅 medal and T shirt for that run
oh well done Al on your now official PB 🙌🏼👏🏼🏃🏼♂️
I’m glad they finally got the correct time up for you!🌟
I’m not sure how I missed this fabulous post AlMorr , but my word you were smokin’ 😅 💥 What a fantastic time, and I’m relieved the organisers have yours down correctly now.
Again, huge congratulations and I bet you can’t wait for the next one. Not long at all! 👏👊
Thank you very much CC, I was a little surprised on my PB for 10K on Sunday, my next 10K is The Great Scottish Run on Sunday October 6th which I understand is the same day as you are running the Cardiff Half Marathon, I wish you good luck for that run.✅🏃
It is Al! We both have races that day! All the very best to you too. Let’s hope for kind weather conditions. 🤞
Yes, I hope it's a nice sunny day for the 10K and HM, light wind with a temperature of about 11C.
PS cheekychipmunks, I have just this moment received my race number and time I will be starting The Great Scottish Run on the 6th October, my start time is 08:58 and I am in the pink wave, that's for the 80/90 minute 10K runners.
A little strange looking at the starting times of the half marathon version of the Great Scottish Run, the fastest runners are in the purple wave, they start at 10:00, however, the HM blue wave which are the slower runners don't start until 12:01, that's two hours later, I wish you luck with your HM but I'm glad that it's the 10K I am running.
Well done Al, I just noticed your age and am praying that I can be as fit as you should I be lucky enough to live that long. Seriously impressive!!!!👏👏👏
