Hi all,
Some of you will know already, but mainly just posting here to give hope to others and have a record of my journey!
After achieving a 6K while on holiday, I slowed down on a cooler night at home this week and pushed for a 7K. Stats aren't great, but I know I'll get faster in time. For now I'm content with dragging my 18st frame around for 7K (almost an hour!!!).
I'm sure there are many before me that have said it, and there will be many many more afterward...…………..but...…… I never in a million years, thought I'd be able to run/shuffle/drag myself around 7K. Following ju-ju- 's 10K plan has made this all possible.
Aiming to add 1K a week now, if possible. My knees ached a bit after this run, and I have a PR on Sat morning. I'm tentatively thinking of signing up for my first 10K race on 1st September, if I can get to 8K next week, then I know I can get to 10K.
I never thought I'd say/write those words either - I'm still a bit in awe of the whole process.
I think it was Tbae earlier this week that summed it up perfectly with a Thomas Jefferson quote:
"To get something you have never had, you must be willing to do something you've never done"
However far you are going this week - Be willing, believe & repeat!
Happy running!
