Last night I ran with my local running group as we ran together the 3.7miles and “finished for Matt”
Since graduating C25K on 8th April I have only run 5k once so I was a lift nervous whether I would be able to complete the 3.7 miles. Us slow and steady runners stuck together at the back of the group and began the run chatting away and I soon settled into the run. I knew I could take some walking breaks if I needed to but just kept a slow and steady pace and just kept going. The support from the rest of the group was fantastic and this definitely spurred me on to finish.
I am so proud that I not only ran my longest run but it turned out to be my fastest pace too...not intentional 😳 It was such a great tribute and we raised over £300 between us.
The run has also given me the confidence to join Park Run this Saturday and I definitely have the urge to book a 10k race so I have something to work towards in the coming months 😁

Thank you 😊 so pleased I was able to complete the run especially because of the reason why we were running. I was also pleased that I knew I could have run further as I still had some left in the tank, which has given me a real confidence boost 😊
Well done. Nice to see you post. I’ve seen and enjoyed your previous posts as have always been a couple of weeks behind you on couch to 5k. I’ve carried on too and telling people has actually spurred me onwards. My best friend now posts me her runs as together we are working towards ju_jus 10k. On the second week now.... I need to get my 6k run in as she’s already done hers. Well done with the fund raising and I look forward to seeing your posts to the 10k 👍 x
Great to hear how well you are doing and that your continuing your running. I must admit I felt a little lost once I finished C25K but I have settled into a weekly routine now.
