This was my 14th park run, a really cold and muddy one! I noticed the numbers of runners had greatly diminished over the last few months.
I took up my position near the back and set off at a steady pace. I thought I’d run for about 30 mins and then finish with a fast walk. I got chatting to a couple who had a similar pace to me and they encouraged me ‘don’t walk, just slow down to baby steps running and keep going’. So I did! I kept running at the slower pace and even then managed a push to a faster pace at the end.
So, I did my first park run running all the way. I am really happy with that, and a time of 38.09 minutes.

Excellent run for you at parkrun Oldlady64, a sub 40 minute 5K is very good and you ran all way 😊 🏃🏾 it was very nice of that couple encouraging you to run in baby steps, you should be very proud of yourself.
It is all part of the joy of joining in events like the park run, everyone is so friendly and helpful! I am very pleased with myself and want to use this to keep going and pressing on!
