I wasn't going to run today

I really wasn't, my neighbour was running and I was going to walk, but it's a beautiful day.I was sat thinking about it and I thought I'd change my shoes just in case and while doing that I changed into running shorts.

My neighbour has been doing week 3 runs for a while now so I suggested week 4 run 1 and she went for it.

We ran together, with one ear bud so we could talk a bit, this mostly consisted of her saying she couldn't run for 5 minutes and me distracting her.

We kept it steady, it was really warm but not too sunny.

So week 4 started for my neighbour, run finished 2.67k run we turned and walked back chatting, my neighbour is understandably elated and I'm wondering why I ran today when I have a 5k planned for tomorrow but it was a good run.

My neighbour does like this track that loosely follows the river and used to be a railway line.

Run happy all

Good photo Sue, well done to your neighbour on completing run 1 of week 4 and you running along with her, you should ask her to setup an account with Healthunlocked and C25K and suggest a username for her.

I've suggested it 😃 but we have found a pub at the end of 30 minutes run for her graduation run 😂

What a stunning view! You and your neighbour are really helping each other to challenge yourselves, a great support network.

😁 thank you, that track goes for miles, our bit is less than quarter of an inch but I'm hoping to go further in time

I think you did the right thing but you’ll know for sure tomorrow. 😅 When I was running longer distances I was never able to run two consecutive days, but then again I rarely used to Jeff and take it easy on any of my runs back then so running back to back wasn’t ever really an option.

Hopefully tomorrow you can just Jeff and take it easy easy easy if it gets at all tough. You’re out there and you’re exercising and really that’s all that matters. Oh and having fun of course.😂👍

The idea of tomorrow was a whole 5k without walk breaks to gauge the time difference between jeffing and running. I'm thinking Worthing Parkrun Saturday, I'll see how I feel in the morning 😃 I have 3 choices, run, Jeff or rest.I think you always pushed more than I do Brian, I tend to just plod along but my plodding is very slightly increasing in speed.

Fun? Is it fun? Possibly, it used to be, now it's getting out, if I didn't I'd stay in and mope.

Worthing Parkrun would be amazing for you to run!

Scary with lots of others, and I'm so flipping slow

I was like that on my first one. Basically start at the back, it’s super friendly there. Honestly I’d be surprised if you don’t enjoy it and have a great sense of achievement when it’s done. Speed is quite irrelevant, it really is unless you want it to be. Your pace whatever that is, will be fast enough.

I'm looking forward to it in a strange sort of way

and she gets to meet Sandie1961 , and maybe 2 from Southsea too. Who could turn that down?

And maybe one from Southampton too 😆. My plans have changed and I’m now free on Saturday. There’s an early train I could catch 🎉

You get a lot of parkrun travel out of your rail pass Mudita

That’s amazing. A VRB Parkrun meet up 🤩 I bet that’s going to be great fun. 😃 I would love to go along too but it’ll be too tricky this weekend for me, Have fun!

My aim one day was to run/walk most of it, there is a Downslink ultra but I can't see that happening for me

well done both of you. Could your neighbour not walk Jeff around a parkrun on Saturday, further than she’s ran but could walk it.

It's her birthday Friday so she's expecting to be hung over

Doris8 profile image

you’ll have to join her. I don’t mean hungover

lovely to go out with your neighbour! I remember many times not wanting to go out and run, but it does give you a boost sometimes when you need it. Hope it goes well tomorrow if you decide to do the 5K.

You should go to the park run anyway on Saturday! You can Jeff it anyway if you want. I think you’d enjoy it

I'm going, I've decided 😂 and yes I can Jeff it, tomorrow's 5k was supposed to work out which is best for me run or Jeff, but I'll see how I feel in the morning

I think you must be really helping your neighbour with her c25k journey, well helping each other! I like the look of that run, nice and flat, I haven't run in weeks due to acilles problems so am very jealous, will have to make do with yoga tomorrow 🧘‍♀️

That looks a lovely place to run, I'm not surprised you fitted an extra run in there :)

Hope your 5k goes well tomorrow, I'm sure it will. It's quite addictive this running malarkey, isn't it!
