Hiya and welcome to a new week.

Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week.

If youre a lurker it is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy week,

Juju, Realfoodieclub, Oldfloss, Millsie-J and Bluebirdrunner

Isn’t it wonderful seeing the sun at last! I have just done the same run as Saturday getting on for 30 seconds per km quicker than in Saturdays rain.

Well I wish I had something good/nice to share

Currently plagued with injury

Something in shin, thought initially shin splints but just over 2 weeks on and not really much better

Then yesterday putting my sock on and bang, think it’s psoas gone into spasm and won’t stretch out

Drs in the morning and hope for the best

Currently though a very grumpy fed up old man even though the sun is shining and the birds are singing

Ain't gunna lie...had to Google psoas. Good luck at the Doc's.

Oh no :( I hope the doc can offer hope - if not, perhaps a sports physio?

Anniemurph profile image
AnniemurphGraduate10 in reply torolysmate

Have you had the x-ray or do you still have to book it and then wait 5 days??? Arrgh! Sometimes the radiographer will tell you what they can see there and then, but some of them won't.

have phoned to book it but got answer machine so now waiting for them to ring back

Anniemurph profile image
AnniemurphGraduate10 in reply torolysmate

Hmmm... in my experience - ring again as they are often too busy to get to the answer m/c until the end of the day but if they are passing they will pick up the phone. Worth a try? Good luck x

Oh no! I was wondering how you were getting on.

Hope you manage to get it sorted soon.

X-ray

Sorry to read this. I hope that the x-ray shows that there is nothing to worry about, and that perhaps some rest is all you need. Fingers all crossed.

Total for last week was bit under 18 miles after a 10K road run on Saturday. This morning was a slow run along the cliffs. Lovely day. Bit over 16 miles to go to meet the rather arbitrary monthly target.

Slow 6K this morning. Fast is not quite the new slow yet. The new slow is somewhere in between the old fast and the old slow. Except on trail runs where the new slow off road is much the same as the old slow on them. Mainly because I don't want to break my ankle in a rabbit hole. I hope you're all keeping up.

In the end I did 47 miles of my 53 mile target for March but my first run of the month was not until the 12th so I'm happy with that. No point straining something just to achieve a made up figure. Maintained 4 runs a week which seems to be going well. Did another 10K on the 24th and my first Park Run yesterday with most of my family. All in all a good month.

Better than Good! SlowLoris 😎

Considering how rough the weather has been through March..thats a very impressive tally..

10k is always a fab acheivement, and that first Parkrun with your family is the perfect way to round off a super months running 😊xx

Will you be making Parkrun a regular thing now?

It's a nice route but I shall see how it fits in with my running schedule. I want to work on longer runs so if a Saturday 5K doesn't fit in I might just volunteer instead.

I'm injured too rolysmate. I tried a gentle run today but slowed to a walk after 5 minutes. I still enjoyed the sunshine and the singing birds. I decided not to fret. I'll lose some fitness while this knee heals (ITB probably). I can hop back to Week 6 or 7 of my Get Running 5km app and then hopefully I'll be back to my plan to do a 10km. The evenings are bright and hopefully we'll have no more snow and ice so I could be running my 10km in the summer.
