I have started my taper for my HM on 09 April. I join a cruiseship for 9 days tomorrow - and will walk the deck and spend a bit of time on the rowing machine in the gym. I feel good to go for the HM.
Sore foot. Ran 6k in new trainers yesterday - very pleased with them. Sore foot today on the top where you tie the laces when I flex it forwards. Hmmm. I'll have to see how it goes, but concerned, as I can't now take them back.
I ran a muddy 3k in my new trail shoes...... turned out they were too tight in the toebox so had a sore foot afterwards. I took them back still with the mud on them and the shop accepted them ๐ฎ. You could ring them and ask maybe?
When I bought them they suggested that I ran a dreadmill run in them first because their policy is that they won't accept them back if you've run outside in them. I did 3k on the dreadmill (it felt like at least 8!) and they felt fine. I'm wondering if I had them tied a bit tight because the laces are too short. I have them nice and comfy over the instep but that means I don't have much lace left to tie a bow with. Might buy some longer laces and see if that makes a difference.
That sounds a good plan! I have mine tied loose except around the ankle area. Doh, why are my feet so wide ??!?Hope the shoes turn out to be ok ๐๐ผ
I'm bracing myself for my "100 Miles in April" challenge. Been trying to steadily build up the miles over the last few weeks in readiness. Looking back over the last few months my total weekend runs have been about 15-20k.... how far we all come Eeeeek... still need to average 40k per week.... but hey, I need a challenge like this to build my running base further.
