Another week of no running.

I had a foster dog who couldn’t be left, I developed a cough after the sore throat and cold thing that I had before and now? Now I am on prophylactic antibiotics - that are making me feel a bit blah and dry mouthed - because my hand got a bit banged up after I had to stick it the the foster dog’s mouth so he would let go of my own dog. She was sore after but had no broken skin at all, proof if needed, that he was not attacking her but just grabbed hold of her when he got scared by the vacuum cleaner, and then couldn’t let go.

I digress.

I was due to do the local 10K MoRun this morning, but what with not having run since a week ago last Thursday, I had to bump myself and Taylor down to the 5k. It was gloriously sunny, but cold and muddy, though the trees seemed to be looking particularly pretty to make up for that. Rather randomly, I found myself running along chatting to a lady I ran along and chatted with last year as well 😃.

Finished in 37:24, which is a couple of minutes slower than last year, but last year I was using it as our first ‘race’ and had trained to be ready for it 😉

Sorry to hear of the troubles you've been experiencing lately but glad you were able to drop down and do the 5k. BTW Taylor sure looks like a regal beagle 👑🐶😆

I was glad I could as well, the charity is close to my heart.

She does love having her photo taken in her bling 😉

What a difficult time you've had and how brilliant that you are able to run. Well done to you both! ☺️

I suspect fostering dogs brings some big challenges of it's own with lots of patience, love and understanding required. I think you've done and are doing a fabulous thing there. ☺️

Thanks.

I’ve only been doing the fostering thing for a short time, though it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while.

Well done on getting there for the 5k - plenty of other opportunities for a 10k when you feel stronger and life isn't conspiring against you!☺

Thanks.

Lots of opportunities for another 10K, yes. And in the meantime I can have a lovely time getting the beagle running the longer distances as well 🐶

Tough times, Maddee_6333 - I hope things start to pick up for you soon. Lovely photo in the sun 😊

Thank you!

The sunshine was glorious. My favourite kind of day for running.

All you splendid people out there, fostering dogs and children/babies. I can only offer my two Cats Protection cats into this mix. They won't come running with me!

You gave a home to rescue kitnins. That definitely counts as an excellent thing to do 🧡. Though I can understand they don’t make good running buddies.
