I hope that everyone is OK with these floods as this time it's very close to me as I live in a valley in between the River Severn and the River Wye so even though I live on a hill its seriously wet every where around here and I stopped my car yesterday to take this photo as normally there are dog walkers here and now its seriously flooded it must be awful for the ground dwelling wildlife.
There its a beauty to this because it's in the wild so it has a quality not like flooded houses.
It's like the last sting in the tail of winter as Spring is looming...🌞
Thanks Jerry, we are fine, live quite high up although some flooding in the villages and businesses near the harbour were well sand bagged. My sister in law has been badly affected again, she has a ground floor apartment a little way from the river Aire, the water came up through the floor!! Lost all her carpets and not able to get flood insurance.
Thanks for this update, it seems no one is escaping this awful weather, most of us have been affected in one way or another and there are still warnings for the next few days. I do hope the wet weather doesn't get any worse for you either, it must seem very strange seeing water coming up through the ground.
Oddly enough Jerry, there's a strange calmness about your photo, hopefully not the calm before the you know what!
Hi Chloe, it was a calm day yesterday, I live on a steep hill in a valley so the water runs down the hill fast.
I drove past here yesterday and thought it looked magical even though it was raining so I stopped and had a good look around and took a photo on my way home. I love taking time out to check out the surroundings sometimes as scenes like this are here today and gone tomorrow.
