barium in Brazil nuts/selenium
I take one or two small Brazil nuts every day because I have hashimoto and it was advised for selenium which is lacking in thyroid patients. I read of someone whose doctor told them they had high levels of barium which affects memory and the doctor had no idea how you can rid the body of barium. This

News we've all been waiting for!
Ralph's had the most amazing few days. On Tuesday he had the swallow x-ray and the speech therapist was amazed at the results. Firstly he gave him some sour tasting stuff, which Ralph insisted he tried to see how horrible it was, lol. Then he had barium mixed with water, then barium with yoghurt then

Contrast for CT Scan
I have stage 3a CKD. I had a kidney removed in 2022 due to renal cell carcinoma. I am currently having scans every 6 months. I have asked for no contrast due to my reaction to it, and the doctors has sent in the orders without contrast, however my upcoming scan is scheduled to taken with Barium contrast

90% good news
Ralph doing well and happy with progress. Last Tuesday SALT said leave cuff down for 24 hours from Thursday to Friday morning, and if that went well, leave it down all weekend unless he was in distress. Then the plan was to put in a fenestrated cuffless trachy this Wednesday coming. Best laid plans etc

Managing Pudendal Neuralgia pain
Hi all, I joined this forum to remain on top of developments around the complex pelvic floor issues affecting women and to seek support from others. In my experience these are generally poorly understood by doctors in the UK especially at consultant level and there is an absence of multi agency support

Hello everyone, question about gluten and globus (feeling of lump in throat) ?
(Prior yo that endoscope I was off gluten so the
test
wasn't probably accurate). I've also had
barium
swallow, and head/neck mri which showed no lump. I am specifically wondering if anyone has had globus sensation?

I was a heavy drinker for a few years and benzodiazepines for a year but stopped 6 months ago and that’s when I started having problems I have been suffering from nausea for 6 months and constipation for 3 months

Swallowing problems
HiDoes anyone have an issue with swallowing. I've been told my muscles in my throat spasm causing me to vomit 2/3 times a week. I am hardly eating anything and what I get down is a liquid diet and 8 months on I'm fed up. This has caused a pharyngeal pouch. I've seen an ENT specialist for this and I've

Extra drugs for Acid Reflux
hi everyone I am trying to get a cough under control which I have had for about 3 years. I have seen a Respitory doctor and technician who are keeping an eye on my lungs and breathing due to them thinking it might be asthma (but never been proven) my blow tests seem ok. My cough comes on and off during

To Trial or not to Trial?
I have decided not to trial. Going to just do the Venetaclax & Obin protocol. I’m just not in the mood for the extra appointments and brain damage that invariably comes with them. I’m waiting for a start date. Had the bone marrow biopsy and endless other tests this week - decided not to peek at the

Seeing my GP Monday
Seeing my GP Monday. I told my friend that !method one and gabby were recommened. He told me absolutely not as it has heroin in it and I would be stuck on it forever. I'm on hydrocodone . Three of them now thru out the night at 10/325mg. I definitely do not want to take this since it makes me feel like

Feeling rubbish withdrawing from Diazepam/Valium
Hi Has anyone else experienced coming off of Diazepam or similar benzodiazepines? I’ve been on Diazepam for over 10 months (so a LOT longer than the recommended 2 weeks max to avoid addiction). I’ve been slowly weaning off of it over the last month or so, with doctor’s approval, and for the most part

Twitching
G'day folks. I was diagnosed with FND a week ago and I've been reading about people having seizures. I don't have seizures, I just twitch from the time I wake up until the time I go to sleep. When I say twitch I I've heard butted my knee when I'm sitting down. I'm on baclofen and valium 3 time's a day

Night Terrors Anyone?
I have been experiencing night terrors for many years now, varying in intensity. They usually manifest early on after going to sleep. CBT doesn't help, but Valium does (which I seldom take). I have learned to ignore the weak ones with a bit of screaming. Sometimes I don't even notice them, but they scare
