Increase needed but do I increase T4 or T3?
I have added liothyronine to my levothyroxine. My latest results indicate that an increase in one or the other is needed. Medichecks and Monitor My Health use the same ranges. 18.8.23 Medichecks (112.5 mcg levothyroxine only) TSH 0.101 mu/L (0.27-4.2) FT3 3.9 pmol/L (3.1-6.8) 21.62% through

Hi all, I got some private tests done (attached) and I have to say I’m surprised as they seem to point to me being hyperthyroid but have all the symptoms of hypo. Can someone explain to me please? Other tests done recently were: B12 - 240 - I have pernicious anaemia and am getting B12 injections off

Indigestion
I have a dull ache down my breastbone which comes and goes. Although I have a mild heart murmur it has been diagnosed as gastric related and I’ve been given Lansoprazole to try. I’m concerned as one of the side effects is osteoporosis of the hip - I already have osteopenia. Is this type of issue linked

So I live in uk and for a year now my daughter age 14 has had various symptoms which come and go in severity but impact her life when bad. She is under paediatricians who were unconcerned about her low TSH and after discussion with paed with interest in endocrinology they wrote to gp and said no further

Fasting home blood test
Following my previous post in which I reported my results from 20/02/24, I did a fasting home test from "monitor my health" on 18/03/24 to try to get a more accurate picture. These are the results: 18/03/24: TSH: 4.47 (0.27-4.2) (20/02/24: 5.37) FT4: 15 (12-22) (20/02/24: 13.8) FT3: 4.1

Revised Plot of PSA vs Testosterone: Estrogen vs Lupron ADT
Ugh...I made a BIG mistake on the previous posting! I just realized that Dr. Morgentaler had listed the Testosterone level in unusual units (
ng/mL
), not the usual units of (
ng/dL)
. So, my X-axis was off by a factor of 10. Here is the revised plot. The exciting discovery is that the

Low t3 with high t4, graves.
I'm not sure what's happening. I've had one episode of toxic nodule hyperthyroidism back in 2015, hemithyroidectomy in 2018. Then I got graves (unrelated apparently) in 2022. My t4 was 63, my t3 was 30! so was on carb until June 2023. I've not been on any meds since. Following my thyroid through private

How does synthetic t4 convert to the active t3 after a thyroidectomy?
Is it the same place & way if one still has their thyroid? Ie. When you all note that hormones given replace the thyroid, not top it up if the thyroid is still in place, does it then not matter if one has a thyroid for this mechanism? (Not discussing taking anyone's thyroid without obvious dire need

Blood Test Results Help Please
I have just got my blood test results back. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroiditis in 1994. My TSH is low & my T4 is low in the range. The lab refused to test my T3. My Folate is low & I feel my B12 is at the low end of the range (to feel well). My GP has just texted me re the Folate, but ignored

GP not doing regular thyroid bloods.
How often should gp do thyroid bloods please? My main thyroid problem is fatigue, it’s not there all the time, comes and goes. So, I would like them done every 8 weeks, as I try different combos of Levo, T3 and Thyroid S, till I feel better. However, mine doesn’t do anything at all until I chase her

Referred to private Endo - London; advice and recommendations please
Hi all, I have just been referred by the GP to an Endo. I was hoping that someone could privately DM me with recommendations for private endos in central London. I am also wondering whether I could be suffering from Hashimotos hyperthyroid flare ups: To recap; I have hashimotos, and had a hemithyroidectomy

signs of mild hypothyroidism?
Hi there, New to this forum 👋 grateful to be here 🙏 I’m wondering if anyone could shine some light on my thyroid test results. In March 2023 my TSH was 0.98 (range 0.27-4.2), and my T4 was 15.5 (range 12-22) - this was done with a private GP so sadly no T3. These bloods were taken after 12pm and

Trying to learn again
Can anyone tell me why they test tsh when your on medication if it really serves no purpose. Isn't the free t3 and free t4 the main goal.

Puffiness/swelling whilst Hypo
Hi friends, I’ve been hypo (Hashi’s) since 2008 and have been on a journey to improving my health. T3 has really helped as has improving my diet. One thing I have noticed is that on some days I swell up across my body. This is noticeable when I put on my watch, wedding ring and trousers: everything

Really high TSH
Hi I had a recent blood test and my TSH has come back at 8.7, this is the highest I've ever had. The docs called me on Thursday and when I said I'm on 200mcg Levo they said they needed to get me in for a review. I'm going today at 10.30am. TSH attached T4 is 15.3 (11-22.6) T3 is 4.2 (3.5-6.5) Any
