Hello everyone, question about gluten and globus (feeling of lump in throat)

I also have painful tongue, chronic constipation, bouts of diarrhoea, I've had rashes that look like little spots/patches over the years, burning mouth, tongue, oesophagus, sore stomach, and tingling/vibrating in stomach and elsewhere (had that prior to my b12 crash)

Had coeliac tests, but BOTH were when I had come off gluten for a month or two 🤦‍♀️ I didn't realise that I needed to be on it.

I'm not sure that gluten is an issue for me, but I am very suspicious. Coming off of it was slightly imperfect.

I have a feeling of lump in my throat and such burning pain. No taste of acid, and was told after an endoscope that they didn't see signs of acid reflux?! (Prior yo that endoscope I was off gluten so the test wasn't probably accurate). I've also had barium swallow, and head/neck mri which showed no lump.

I am specifically wondering if anyone has had globus sensation?

Tried PPI (and ended up in a bad way with b12)

But wondered if globus and burning mouth and throat and be a manifestation of coeliac?

Hi!I'm not sire I can help. Coeliac disease is an immune reaction of the bowel and might be perceived in the stomach, but I'm not sure it manifests in the mouth as well. That looks more an alergic reaction to me. Have you looked at histamine hypersensitivity?

Histamine is in a lot of food so it could happen that you have it very often.

Maybe you can have a look at that and see if symptoms and food match yours.

I hope it helps :)

Sorry to read,

Coeliac disease is a systemic disease and can indeed affect every body system. So, anything from and including difficulty swallowing, swollen lymph glands, infertility, migraines and rashes/hives.

The gastrointestinal tract is 30 feet, 9 metres. Lots can go wrong with it. I note you suffer constipation, causation can be multifaceted and includes blunting of small intestinal damage, poor contractions (peristalsis and the migrating motor complex) and deficiencies such as iron, B12, magnesium. This can impact other areas of the body too.

Some with coeliac disease have no gastro symptoms but neurological.

GUTS U.K. are very helpful as is celiac.com

Best wishes
