With the spaced out-ness and the palpatations, is it possible to die from it or am i safe?

Can the spaced out-ness lead to some sort of brain damage or dementia?

Sorry for such stupid questions but if i know FOR SURE i think that may help :- /

Hi Karen, A panic attack can NOT kill you, most definitely not....you are safe. As for the spaced out ness it is your brain protecting you from too much worry! You can only take so much you know and we push ourselves far too hard at times. Questions are never stupid Karen love. x Ella x

Thanks for your answer Ella, this has helped me too. It';s all very well knowing you are having a panic attack, but when the symptoms feel so dire, heart pounding for days on end, pains etc etc etcyou then start a vicious circle of worry about those as well...

Thanks for this.

Hi Karen

Sorry you are going through such awful symptoms of your anxiety, believe me you cannot die from this..What you are experiencing is Unreality, a symptom where your brain literally shuts down to protect you from overloading it with too much worry, why dont you read up on it and then it may help you to understand, accept and then it will diminish...It is awful and very scary at the time, I still get it now when ive had an episode of intense anxiety/worry and walk around feeling im just not here, can be in the supermarket on automatic pilot and get home and think was I really there....Hope this helps, take care Dee x

Going to look that up Deecey. That sounds just like me. I get overloaded really easily and its very difficult to work when your brain keeps shutting down.

Hi Karenx

Very understandable question, not remotely stupid and part of the treatment would be to anser such questions!! Given the felings that it causes. Health anxiety is a common consiquence of panic and anxiety.
