CBT: Hi, I was wondering if anyone can give... - Anxiety Support
CBT
Hi Mummyof5
I havnt had CBT but there are people on here that speak very highly of it & it has worked for them , look around on peoples blogs & you may find the posts
I am waiting to be refered & if they offer it me , I would certainly give it a go , we cant come out any worse for giving it a try thats for sure
I am to afraid to take pills , so I feel these other options they offer are well worth a try
Someone may come on later that has had CBT & be able to say more about it
But I would give it a go & let us no how you go on with it
Keep posting as well as this can be a big help , everyone understands & getting things out without been judged can be a relief
Love

Hi hun
I've been to CBT counselling today and I feel quite better afterward and will have more sessions every 2 weeks. I'm like you as am very scared to take pills cos worry about anxiety get worse, side effects on it and afterwards when stop taking it so I rather to solve my problems with counselling. Highly remmonded also just let you know vitamins does help! I took magnesium also seven sea called energetic you which contain fish oil also vitamin b complex which really helps with anxiety. It works for me! Xx
Hi Minnie, the counselling sessions sound like a great option I feel exactly the same with pills. I will give theses Vitamins a try. Thank you very much for the advice. Xxxxx
Your welcome love! Also highly remmonded to buy "chamomile flower" tea from Waitrose shop and brand is called teapig! Swear by it! You can drink 2 cup before bed time, it got calming effects also help with anxiety!! Give it a try?? Xxx
hi mummy, i done cbt for 6 months for panic/health anxiety and i have to say it really helped to speak to a complete stranger, as mad as that sounds, as i don't really like burdening friends or family with my woes, as people have their own, so doing cbt i found helped a lot.
nothing to lose in giving it a shot.
best wishes

Hi mummyof5..I have been doing cbt or the past 8 months, before I started Icouldn't leave the house alone, was taking mianserin and xanax, after 3 weeks I was walking out on my own,HE also took me off the mianserin,I am off them now 6 months, and I realise I feel better without them.I don't take panic attacks any more, because I know how to control my anxiety without being afraid of it.please go for cbt,its the only thing that worked for me..XXXX
I will be starting CBT for the first time on 19 February, like you I am a little worried about what to expect but the feedback is very good and the chap who I will be seeing says that NICE say that this is the best form of controlling panic and anxiety, as long as you embrace the theory and work hard to do it... and not give up, as it can be hard to grasp in the beginning. Anyway like you I have nothing to loose and all to gain.
Especially as my ESA medical has found that I have no mental health problems at all!
(what a joke!)
So off to the job centre for me !
Thank you all so much for the help and advice feel positive about CBT now. Sometimes you feel like your going crazy. Thank so much again. Xxx
Hey Angela, that's terrible about your ESA. My mum had the same problems could hardly walk a few feet with heart problems worked all her life and they gave her nothing she really struggles. Hopefully you get it sorted. Xxxx
