Hi! I’ve been doing it for about 4 months now and to be honest I haven’t seen a difference. But I’m going to keep at it and hope it starts helping. But everyone is different so I think you should definitely give it a try!

Yes I’ve been doing it for a week or so and haven’t seen a difference. I was trying to find a trigger for my panic attacks but have had no luck so far. Hope you’re doing ok.

I've used CBT twice in my life for severe anxiety both related to a real medical condition. I'm rapidly leaving my anxiety going back to work next week and it worked great the first time too. I have two books to recommend strongly one is Hope and help for your nerves by Dr Claire Weeks and break free from anxiety by Ken Goodman. If you're not rapidly getting better from your anxiety why not go to Amazon and order these two books a very cheap investment and give them a try. You may have to Google Ken Goodman's book cuz it's not always available on Amazon.

Also the first time I left my anxiety was with meds this time no meds and no withdrawals which I like.

Thank you I’ll be sure to give them a try!

If you order the two books I would recommend reading hope and help for your nerves first. And you must remember this book was written in the 1950s back then they used to use a lot more heavy medication. But Dr Claire weeks is really one of the founders of CBT.

Ok great I’ll look into it

I have tried it several times. It can be something in your toolkit but if you have any problems more severe than mild it will not at all be a cure but a mitigation. It is like medication only really there for mild symptoms.

I appreciate the insight. Thank you.

Hi I have had 16 week sessions of CBT for PTSD Trauma the first few weeks I thought that it was a waste of time but as the weeks went on and I carried out the instructions and requests that the therapist gave me I began to see and accept things more clearly and the fog I was carrying began to lift. I actually began to look forward to my weekly calls and was sad when the sessions ended. ( the CBT was on theNHS) I hope you can get the help you need.

Thank you for your response. Now I’m more keen to give it a go :)

CBT is working for me. I do not go to therapy or have any other help, instead I have researched it, thoroughly, and am doing my best by following the techniques on my own. In my opinion, it is an excellent treatment, it just takes dedication and much time and a very real desire for it to help.
