After Sales Service.

Hi. All. When we buy goods that require maintenance we ask about after sales service. Let the analogy go on to nervous illness. As we recover, or even get partially well again how much after sales service are we going to give? To just carry on our lives as before and to learn nothing from our experience is a waste of energy. There has to be a reason for suffering as there is in anything. It is what we do with the experience that is important. Some on this site have obviously succeeded in recovery and are 'staying on' to help others where possible. They don't have to do that so something has led them to believe they do. I wonder if they would be helping if they had not had the experience of the illness? How could they because they can only speak from experience. No doubt many would rather forget their illness and get away from the suffering, even if it is in other people, and who can blame them? Enough is enough. I heard on the TV this AM that the increase in self harm has increased in Kent by 16% last year. (No one looks at why). Support for people in trouble is always needed, but we have seen, by some of the people who have tried to put adverts on this site, (and been sent off) that the desire to make a quick buck out of suffering is always present. To do it voluntarily and without thought of reward is almost becoming unique. Everyone I went to who charged me a fee hardly helped at all. Those who did it out of Love, helped enormously. "What's in it for me" is the cry we hear all around but I suggest you won't hear it here or on any other good help site or charity.. So how many who have recovered or are recovering are giving their time and effort? Many!! But I think more are needed. Anyone new to this site and who recovers I say, please come back and help. Let us know how you did it. Speak from your own experience. If only one person listens and understands then you have accomplished a lot. Love to all. jonathan.

Johathan 110 % agree , just 5 minutes now & again , anything any one can spare , i think the secret to staying well is give back to others what they gave you !

"Give, and it shall be given unto you, tamped down and running over". Sorry, I could not resist that after what you said. Religious, probably? True? Absolutely!! You know I am not religious in the accepted sense of the word, but we do come across some very apt comments. Love. j.

Not that Religious either , but alot in that Big Book if we all lived by it , the world would be a better place , makes you think ? & so simple really "treat others as you would like them to treat you " can never understand why people just dont seem to get simple things like that ?

Because you are a sensitive person and they are not. To enter into another's suffering is difficult and most people fear it. "Love one another" is another saying that has always resonated with me, but we mustn't carry this religious bit too far because I know some are not happy about it. I dont know why but the sayings of Buddha always seem more acceptable to some. Strange!. Love. j.

OK thats my lips zipped on the R subject then lol
