Hi Kieran12

I've been taking it for years and it has helped me a lot. It takes the edge off some of the horrible physical symptoms like palpatations, shaking etc. Some people take it if they have "performance anxiety", e.g before going on stage or doing a presentation etc. If your GP has suggested it for you I'd give it a try. Best wishes

Hey Kieran,

just my opinion, im no doctor my friend, but as i suggested to tedsmum before, Propanolol is a beta blocker, it will help with a panic attack as it slows the heart down, and you should not get palpatations as gg has said. its not really imo a drug for controlling anxiety, as we said more the effects from a panic attack, i do take it, but with a combination of other drugs, some of which are directed at controlling the floating anxiety, all drugs only help, and what works for one doesnt work for another, its trying out what works best for you, though if it was me, i would want something else for the problems that come from anxiety, but propanolol is fine for panic attacks. best wishes VV
