A stethoscope or an oxymeter isn't used to see if you have anxiety. They are used to check for physical problems and to rule them out. If no physical cause is found then you will probably be diagnosed with anxiety. A very common physical symptom of anxiety is shortness of breath and chest pain, along with headaches etc.

Anxiety might cause panic attacks, they used to say breathe into a paper bag and it stop# hyperventilation as you are then not taking too much oxygen in and helps to calm you. You might be better having some talking therapy to give you confidence to cope.

I haven’t got chest pains but I do get headaches

Yes, only from the standpoint that hyper says, doc will listen to your heart and lungs and test blood oxygen for medical reasons for shortness of breath.

I’m linking something I found earlier. Maybe it will help a little bit, getting outside intervention by seeing a therapist may help you when time permits and things settle down with this virus.

In the meantime, there are many other things you can look up on google such as tools and coping mechanisms if you will put in a bit of work to help yourself manage your heightened anxiety.

Yes it can. Your doctor gave you a clean bill of health. TRUST that. Read my post, read the link. You can be the solution to your anxiety, you can learn to manage it, it will take daily commitment but you can do it.

You keep asking that question over and over. Many of us have told you shortness of breath can be a symptom of anxiety! Don't you believe us?

Sorry I just haven’t had this before and with this virus going round makes it worse

in reply toLeebowles98

I mean this in the most sincerest way, your ignoring advice. You are hyper focused on physical reason for shortness of breath when the doc gave you a clean bill of health and advised you that your experiencing anxiety.

In my opinion your staying in a constant state of panic, unable to unwind and relax, it’s keeping you from rationally thinking.

Do any and all that you can do to relax your body, your mind, relax your muscles, lower your heart rate...learn breathing techniques, muscle relaxation, a couple things are mentioned in the link above. Look for other sources too, I just did a quick search and found that one.

Do you suffer from the breathing with anxiety

in reply toLeebowles98

Not all the time, but I can have trouble breathing during excess anxiety or anxiety attacks, i also get other symptoms...keep in mind I do not have health anxiety like you’re having.

Your health anxiety is exacerbating your breathing more. You’ll get this figured out, but you must first ACCEPT you have anxiety. It could be you see numerous doctors to get to s point of acceptance.

I posted a link, hope you read it and explore further your anxiety, read up on ‘health anxiety’ to be more specific. best of luck.

It's only anxiety. Your too focused on your breathing that's why you struggle with breathing problems. If you focus your mind on something else, it will eventually go away trust me I have been going through it myself. Anxiety with symptoms is very real but only you can stop it with confidence and daily practice of self talk(healing) you can do it.

Tonyhope in reply toLeebowles98

Ok well its just a anxiety symptom that has to pass. I use to say the same thing. Why do I still have the symptoms when im calm! Its cause your body is under stress an it won't happen over night you have to be committed to practice healing techniques
