Blogging about my CBT experience

Hi all,

I've been an Anxiety UK member since November last year & its brilliant to know its not just me who goes through the awful feelings that generalised anxiety disorder brings.

After waiting since January, I finally had my first CBT session today. It made me realise that anxiety stems from my self confidence issues. After talking to my therapist, it made me realise what a huge journey I have to take before I can overcome both my self confidence issues & my anxiety issues.

I've decided to try to blog about my experience to convince other people who suffer from anxiety to take control & recieve CBT themselves. It will also allow me to keep a record so I can see how far i've come (hopefully).

If anyone is interested in having a look at my blog, you can find it at bexxcellent.wordpress.com/

Thank you :)

Hi bexstar. I totally agree with you. I have just finished stage 2 of CBT, which is six sessions and have found this so helpful. I am now waiting for stage 3, which is the self esteem part of it. My CBT counseller actually told me that a lot of anxiety issues stem from low self esteem or confidence issues and I am hoping stage 3 will help me build my self esteem a bit more.

I am glad to hear that you feel you are being helped with this. I did not think it was going to help at first but it did. I still get bad days, but not as much as I used to.

In my opinion, CBT is the #1 way to turn an anxious mind into a clear mind. Takes dedication though..
