It looks like taking my alprazolam is a huge paperwork hassle and possibly illegal there, but I'm getting really anxious about not having it with me. Does anyone have any experience with this ? I'll have my buspirone but that only helps a little . Thanks

They can't deny your medication if you have approval from a doctor. It is usually what is described as controlled (but not banned) medication. It is very similar throughout the middle east. Don't be intimidated, if you need it, do the paper work and take it. It is not as if thousands of people aren't on exactly the same thing where you are going. The scary language is to prevent drug dealing not regular people who have medical needs.
