I've been feeling light headed and off balance since being diagnosed hypothyroid years ago, could be meds side effects or the gland itself. I'm also post menopausal so low oestrogen. Allergies bung up the eustachian tunes cause imbalance. All of these can cause disequilibrium leading to anxiety. I had a house flood a year ago and am still in temporary accommodation. Due back soon but lots of hassle. This is the worst dizziness I've had consistently for a while. I also heard that COVID/long COVID can cause dizziness due to mast cell dysfunction. Histamine can affect the nervous system and cause anxiety dizziness. Wow...so much to consider, GP can't offer any solution other than SSRIs. I have some emergency diazepam but I honestly think there are so many physiological reasons here I don't know where to start! Got a functional med doctor ringing next week, she specialises in hormonal imbalance. We'll see what transpires. Anyone having similar issues?

Anxiety or hormones?
I didn't have the dizziness issue but I did find big improvement once I got on the right thyroid med and amount (hypothyroid) and started testosterone shots for low testosterone. Another thing to look at is adrenal fatigue which can also cause mood issues. Meeting with a functional med doctor is a good idea.
Hi there, how long have you been taking those meds? I suggest you make a journal, or self log, write all the side effects you are feeling, in that way, you could know what are the things causing you to feel that way. Also, soon it will help you understand your self better. Hope you are better, just be strong, everything will be okay soon.
Thank you for your kind reply. I've sent off for blood tests for deficiencies, thyroid levels and hopefully might discover a shortage of something. So many factors to consider. Recently read about long COVID and vestibular issues. The imbalance is the worst for me, so anxiety inducing. Will update with any significant results!
