First time posting but figured I'd put this out there... I've been struggling with bad health anxiety lately. Does anyone know the answer to this one: If Xanax makes physical symptoms go away (in this cause, nausea, dizziness, pain in my ribs), does that mean they're caused by anxiety? Or can Xanax mask physical symptoms caused by actual health conditions?

Struggling with Health Anxiety
Health anxiety can be a vicious circle. It’s a bit chicken and egg!
I'm no doctor but I do know that Xanax is just a tranquilizer and not a painkiller. And nausea, dizziness and chest pain are all common symptoms of anxiety.
Xanax May Cause You To Be A little Lighthead [ every now and then, really kinda a little sleepy ] BUT ! Xanax Is A Tranquilizer. It Would HELP With Pain & Muscle Aches & I've Never Had It Make Me Nauseous At All... Heck ! If I'm Having An "Anxiety Attack" [adrenaline dump] I'll Chew That Bitter Pill For Relief !* If You Have Health Anxiety ? It's Best To Just See A Doc & Ease Your Fears...

That's the way I see it. I only use Xanax occasionally now. I have terrible, chronic dizziness which seems to let up when I take half a Xanax. My husband passed away in June and my anxiety level is getting better. It was a hard struggle to take care of him with my own health issues. I have never had any bad side effects from Xanax.
yes. xanax is helpful but use it with caution. Use it as per your Psych or doctor’s prescription.
