how do you convince yourself that you can beat the anxiety? It feels so out of control that none of my usual mantras seem to be effective And it’s making my fear even worse.

Anxiety out of control
Hey friend, I am so sorry that you are going through this. I have been (and often AM) where you are. You are not alone, trust me. Do you take medication? It helps me tremendously.
In my experience, mantras do not work. Partly because I cannot focus on them long enough- being too focused on the anxiety. It is hard to live in that moment and be open to that. I do breathing techniques- even something as simple as taking in a HUGE breath, holding it as long as you can and release it with control. There is also an app on the app store called "binaural beats" (it might be names differently) but you put on headphones and it plays a tone in one ear and a different one in the other. It REALLY helps to focus and calm yourself.
You got this!
When my anxiety acts up I won't always able to control it, but on the occasions that I can get some control is, I cover part of my body in blankets of course enough room where I can breath and I turn on my heater fan next to me on my night stand and I breath in and out clearing my mind. This may sound stupid but if it helps my anxiety and panic attacks I don't care if it's a stupid method lolSomething about the warm heat from the heater fan directly on me calms my anxiety idk why. I also heard from one of my family members to press a cold ice pack on the your center of your chest when anxiety starts to act up. I haven't tried that. But maybe that could work too.
Sorry if these methods sound stupid, but if it helps, it helps! Lol I hope helps others.
Breathing techniques. Try to look at your day in short blocks of time. When I do this I don't feel as overwhelmed and anxious
Online potentials unlimited. program your mind or the world will program you.
Try to tell yourself that everything is okay. Try to accept that death is an eventuality and that thinking of the inevitable will not help.Your mind gives you anxiety. Use it to get rid of it too.
Of all the things I have tried, my inner voice comforting myself has worked the best.
Good luck.
