If you suffer with GAD can 1 cup of coffee in the morning trigger anxiety episodes. Just was wondering if anyone has had small things like that trigger their Anxiety? Thanks

It would trigger me at anytime of the day especially mornings when Cortisol and

Adrenaline are at their highest. Of course we all react differently to stimulants, that's

just my reaction to Caffeine. I do have a hot cup of Decaf Coffee with Cream in the

morning with no issues. :) xx

Thanks for the reply. Yeah my mom does pretty good during the day and at night with her medication for GAD But in the mornings she gets worse anxiety as she finishes breakfast. She drinks a cup of coffee first thing and i feel like that could be causing it. She’s extremely sensitive right now to things that could cause anxiety. She will have to try decaf or skip coffee for a couple days see if that’s the cause.

Hi, if the body needs anything first thing in the morning, it's water to hydrate.

After a night of dehydration from sleeping, water can help the body function better..

I use Taster's Choice Decaf with a little French Vanilla Cream, Gives me that warm

cup of Jo w/o the Jolt lol

Good Luck in finding a solution :) xx

That’s great to know, definitely have to try that. Trying to tweak small things to help her have a good day. Thank you very much for the reply.

First morning without that cup of coffee and she didn’t have that usual heightened Anxiety she had been experiencing. Every little thing helps. Thanks

Hi 84, I'm happy to hear that but know that withdrawal of caffeine (depending how

much one drinks) can produce headaches for a while. One day at a time :) xx

Yes I will keep and eye on that. She only had that one cup a day. But will look out for headaches. Thank you 😊

I LOVE coffee with a passion. Nothing is better in the morning than a hot cup followed by that caffeine kick. But I don’t drink it anymore. Even half a cup, especially in the morning, can lead me into the shakes and anxiety all day long. I replaced mine with functional mushrooms. I drink a mud water with Reishi and ashwaghanda. Or sometimes a cup of ashwaghanda tea.

It will trigger me. I can't eat anything with caffeine. Start with little to be sure your body can take it.

I have GAD and drink a few cups of coffee a day. Doesn't seem to affect me. But each person is different so it very well could affect you

I can't consume caffeine either because it makes me nervous and it gives me too much energy and I'm stuck at home and I have nowhere to use that energy. Also, it stains the gaps in between my teeth and looks like a ate bugs.

For me it does I had Celsius because I needed some energy for the drink and it surely set me off never trying that again
