I started to take multi vitamins and they seem to trigger anxiety at times. Vitamins should help me with it not make it worse right? Also taking vitamins sometimes makes me tired any body dealing with this?

Vitamins and anxiety.
I also seem to think vitamins give me anxiety don't know if it's just in our minds or maybe our bodies are just very sensitive??
hi there,
Totally get it. I avoid the ones that do that to me now.
A lot of vitamins have sugar in them, could be that? But also if you're anxious about taking them, then the act of taking them triggers more anxiety (if that makes sense!). Or maybe some just don't suit your needs. Everyone is different. Plus anxiety is self perpetuating and exhausting.
Maybe make an appointment with nutritionist?
Best of luck working it out. It takes time but that's okay.
my GP is against most vitamins. He says there are only a very few that have been proven to actually help. Vit D3 and COQ10 and Calcium. The others he said it is best to get it in food, because we know that the body uses them that way. When in pill form it is different and we don't know. I know I took multi vitamins for years (expensive ones too) and I never felt a thing. Some vitamin B tablets can cause symptoms. Just my two cents.
This may be of interest - recommendations for upper limits for various vitamins and minerals. Its a bit old now but there have been some reviews and they can be found on the efsa sight.

Having looked through the B vitamin sections I could see obviously the one that mentions anxiety as a side effect is B1 and this was only observed when the vitamin was not being administered orally so if you were taking a tablet that shouldn't be a factor.
However, I do know that some people have an autoimmune response when their B12 levels rise - basically the body trying to shut down the excess - which stops the B12 being transferred to the cellular level, causing 'functional B12 deficiency' - plenty in the blood but none at the cell level. Symptoms of B12 deficiency are many and varied and include anxiety and fatigue ... but then they are also symptoms of a number of conditions.
B12 isn't of itself toxic so having high levels isn't, of itself a problem. I have an absorption problem and as it is a vital vitamin, have to supplement but seem to have the autoimmune response that I mention above - and for me the only way to cope is to actually flood my system with so much B12 that my immune system can't shut down all of the transport.
But may be taking the supplements raised your B12 levels in your blood so you body tried shutting it down and your cells have been left without the B12 they need. Stopping the supplementation should reverse the effect as your levels will drop again and the autoimmune response will stop.
As mezoishere says - whenever possible its best to get vitamins in your normal diet and the formats that come from food. Its only really where you develop a problem that stops you absorbing a particular vitamin that you need to think about supplementing
