Chronic insomnia

HiI've been dealing with severe insomnia for weeks/months now. I have both sleeping pills and Valium but neither work well. I also have anxiety and lack of sleep makes it 10x worse. I've tried everything from meditation, deep breathing, herbal supplements and sleep apps. Has anyone else experienced this?

It's making me crazy. Appreciate any input or recommendations.

#1

some of the best hospitals have sleep clinics

they will observe you in a controlled setting and conduct texts

Insurance should cover

#2 doctors don’t often tell you this but there is actually a blood test that informs you of medicine efficacy and interactions (with your bio makeup)

It will report out specific anti anxiety, sleep, depression that work, don’t work, give you side effects etc

hi, I was prescribed Mitrazapine and I started the low dose of 7.5mg at night, it has worked for me. It is an antidepressant but is also used for aiding sleep. Ask you doctor maybe, it’s always worth a try, hope you find peace and a good nights sleep. Take care

I know it can be distressing when we can't sleep, but one of the things I read and found that helped me is to quit trying and quit worrying about it. It's the anxiety and worry about it that makes it more difficult, so I know it sounds simplistic but it does help. I've been amazed at how well I can function for a number of days on little sleep. The other thing that helped was quitting caffeine and stop drinking any liquids after 5:00pm. I also read a mindless book before sleep that helps. I also take supplements to help lower my cortisol, ashwagandha, phosphatidyl seriene, magnesium glycinate and melatonin for deeper sleep which you might already be taking. I also have found Valerian Root tincture helps me sleep. You might also try CBD for sleep, I found a tincture with other herbs that helped me. My therapist had me also count mentally backward slowly from 100 to 0 and even start over if I reached 0 and I use it a lot. You might also try Ambien for sleep, it really helps me when I really can't get anything else to work, even just a half a pill, Hope you are doing better.

I can definitely relate to this. Ever since I had to attend my best friend’s funeral, I’ve been lucky to get 2-4 hours of sleep. My anxiety is on 🔥 and I’m always feeling a sense of impending doom and just a terrible feeling flushing through me. I’ve always had problems with anxiety, but now it’s 20 times worse. It’s like I just lay there with my eyes closed and I don’t fall asleep, but when I do, I wake up about 2 hours later or sometimes I go one hour at a time. I’ve never had to deal with this and it’s been going on for about 2-3 weeks now. Is this normal for the circumstances? Like, could it be because of my best friend? I just want to feel normal again and get a full night sleep.

Not what you're looking for?
