worry
Hi Beon, the doctors always weigh the risks vs the benefits. In this casewith your family history of coronary disease, I would worry less about the radiation
exposure and concentrate more in knowing your own cardiac health. Good Luck...
Let us know how you did. xx
Hi Beon, Thank you for sharing your your fears with us on this forum. I have had three Coronary angiograms in the past, I found all three angiograms absolutely fascinating, and watched the procedures not wanting to miss anything. There was no pain, initial discomfort as die was injected, and to my knowledge no radiation - The whole procedure may last up to one hour, but not always that long. The results are fast, there is a short time to recover before being sent home several hours later. On all occasions I was fed and given coffee as soon as I returned to the recovery. I was able to ask questions all the way through, in the first angiogram, I had two stents inserted, didn't feel a thing, but watched on screen what was happening. Second angiogram, I had another stent fitted, and third just a check up. I was 64 at the time, am almost 75 now. Take heart (excuse the pun) but be at peace, all will be well. Let the knowledge that they can repair your heart 'there and then' without any fuss keep you free from fear. Let us know - on this forum when you are going for your procedure, where you reside in the world (for timing purpose) I will pray for you whilst you are having it done. Love and blessings
I'm so happy that your health is so good now technology is brilliant it really is and I know that we are blessed to be able to access it..there is a big amount if radiation used in the coronary angiograms but I realize that I won't know how my heart is if I don't get it done..it's a negative thought that has settled in and is nagging me...thanku fir giving time and space to me it's generous and kind .
Hi Beon, apologies for taking so long to reply, just want to reassure you when you say 'there is a big amount of radiation used in the coronary angiograms', I hadn't realised there was any at all, and as I have said, I have had 3 of these procedures. I have however asked members of my family who are medical practitioners and they assure me the amount of radiation used is SAFE! As to your negative thought, try to turn that negativity into positivity. Look forward to a long and healthy future, - In the meantime I will continue to pray for you. x
Modern technology can be extremely helpful or it can be extremely destructive! I find the trouble is more likely to be caused because there are so many sites addressing the so called initial issue. There is also the problem of sites from other countries, who often work in a different manner to us, or at the very least have different names for procedures. I find this so confusing. I am blessed in that my eldest granddaughter is a 'Nurse - 'Matron Manager' with the NHS - and I am able to check in with her in the way we should be able to check in with our G P's - however they no longer see patients in the same way they used to, nor are they helpful. Google can give some god advice, but get on the wrong site with them and you - as you said, make a monumental mistake. Please let me know, when your procedure will be and I will ensure you are covered with prayer. You will be fine, medical procedures are down t a fine art nowadays. Be positive and - learn to love yourself - as GOD loves you!
