Tounge twitching and als worry😢

Hey everyone

I have been noticing everything wrong with me down to random hair bumps 🤷. I've never been diagnosed with any type of disorder but I can definitely say I suffer from anxiety and I believe I'm a hypochondriac. Recently, I have noticed that my tounge is twitching on the tip. I drink heavily everyday since this Covid 19 bs and I live alone with a 2 year old... Barely sleeping, maybe 4 or 5 hours a night. My family think I'm nuts so I can't talk to them which is why I'm here. I'm scared to go to the doc because of Covid and on top of that I don't want to take my son into a doc office for something that's just in my head. When I googled the tounge twitching thing, it talking about als, and my grandmother died from it in '96......

I don't know, it's like a catch 22 because I'm reading that stress can cause it, but knowing it's a symptom of als is making me stress, like wtf...

I'm alone right now because everyone scared of everything right now, I don't want this to take me out! Please help with any advice..

Anyone else experience tounge twitching and if so what happen... Please respond.

Thanks in advance 💗

Girl yes you just explained me! I’ve been so worried about muscle twitches and my tongue twitching and when I look it up is pops up ALS. Which also hits home for me as well because I just lost my mother to ALS 6 months ago... I’ve gotten head CTs that says everything is normal and they have labeled my twitches as anxiety.

Yes I’ve been getting twitches and spasms all over my body including my tongue ALL the time! I would try something, I’m on Wellbutrin for depression, buspirone for long term anxiety and Hydroxyzine for my pains attacks

I’m on Wellbutrin also. I take 300mg a day, for I thought anxiety, but after seeing the reason you take it, reading about it, it says it’s for depression.

Granted I’m depressed but it’s due to my fear of having some disease that’s going to kill me.

Anyways, do you think maybe the Wellbutrin is causing the tongue twitching?

I’m not sure if the Wellbutrin and tongue twitching is related or not. Makes me wonder though. Hmm.. could be, I also get the twitching In my bottom lip! Okay so I get it everywhere but it terrifies me

I get twitching when I have really high anxiety, which is right now. The last week or so I’ve had twitching around my chin and mouth. Last summer it happened everywhere, but mostly in my upper thighs. It’s weird how it just jumps around.

It is super weird, I feel like I’m losing my damn mind, I’m so so happy you understand me! I feel like people think I’m crazy.

I feel that way too! My family thinks I’m crazy too. Lol! I swear you’re not gonna believe this but I kid you not, I was sitting here just now and got a tongue twitch! So weird!

I’ve had an MRI for MS but it came back normal. I do have lupus and rheumatoid arthritis but my rheumatologist says that wouldn’t cause it. So I have no clue what is causing it, but I have read that it can just be a normal thing.

It’s crazy what anxiety does to our bodies and mind. I’ve had a normal CT. But still plan an MRI and maybe EMG from my neurologist so we shall see!

It’s better just to rule things out, if for nothing else than peace of mind. Anxiety really takes a toll on a person.

Exactly my thoughts shoot I even get tremors where it feels like my whole body is shaking even when you can’t visually see it is

Yes. I had a couple of episodes a few months ago. They lasted weeks at a time where my tongue would twitch on and off throughout the day. I could stick my tongue out and it would look like it was dancing around. It eventually went away. I now have this annoying tingling on and off on the right side of my bottom lip. Which terrifies me even more than the tongue twitching!
