Lately I've been having panic attacks and muscle spasms on my chest, particularly on the left where my heart is. Long story short, Dr. Google got the better of me and I looked it up. Found coronary artery spasms. I didn't look into it but it did frighten me a little! The spasms are nothing painful or anything but it still has me worried! My upper back has also been aching. Any idea what it is? Thanks

Hi Marc, I'm not a doctor but neither is Dr. Google.. Only your physician canlet you know what's going on since he knows your health/mental history.
I will put a "however" in my response by saying it sounds much like what I've
experienced in the past. Our chest wall which encases the heart can react to
anxiety by tightening the muscles both in the front of the chest and upper back.
Some call this Costochrondritis, an irritation of the nerve endings between the
rib cage. Heat is usually a remedy that works well by relaxing the muscles and
toning down the inflammation. It is not dangerous but can be annoying as well
as anxiety producing.
But first things first, give your doctor a call and then take it from there.
My best to you xx
Hi Mark, am in the same boat as you!! As much as I tell myself not to Google, I still end up doing that and voila, I bring a panic attack upon myself. I get a lot of upper back pain too, but it could be because of all the tension you're carrying in the body from being anxious. I recently got an ECG done for peace of mind, so I'd recommend just speaking to your doctor!
