Does anyone experience the feeling of something being in their throat?
For the last few days I have had to keep tensing my throat, specially when I eat. It feels like something is there?

Hi Jayde, I was going through your posts and noticed you experienced thissensation once before including feeling it in your upper back when swallowing.
Did you ever have that checked out? It can be a very common symptom of
Anxiety where the throat muscles get tight and feel like something is stuck or
the food/drink won't go down easily. Air trapped in our esophagus can be felt
in our upper back as well.
With Anxiety, it's our emotions that whelm up in our throat causing the muscles
to get tight, the more we focus on it, the longer it bothers us.
However...all physical symptoms should be checked out by a physician to make
sure this is coming from anxiety and nothing more. I've had it myself and so I
know what it was like. xx
Globus sensation. Extremely common with anxiety.
Hi Jayde, I have also experienced "anxiety throat" where it feels tense eating and almost like something is there. It first happened to me when I was 16 and was convinced at the time that there really was some kind of obstruction. But when I talked to the doctor about it, he confidently told me "this is just a psychosomatic response from your anxiety. There is nothing in your throat." Here is something that sometimes helps me when I experience throat tenseness: I take a slow breath and observe the food I'm about to eat. What does it look like, smell like? As I slowly take a bite, I take a moment to enjoy the texture, the taste, the temperature. By focusing on and savoring the food, it can be easier to calm down and swallow. Having a distraction like talking to a friend or watching a funny youtube video while eating can also ease the tension. I hope one of these suggestions can help you! Much love!
At least 2 or 3 people a month report this symptom of anxiety disorder here. So it's very common. It's called globus hystericus. Accept it for what it is, harmless, and it will pass.
Yes I used to get this all the time. I had to try to eat very small soft foods. I drink small sips of ginger ale too. Eventually it went away but I had this as a symptom too. You aren’t alone. Try to take deep breath. Imagine you are filling your mind and tummy with all the nutrients. 🙏❤️🙏
