Increase in lexapro

I just started my first dose of 10 mg Lexapro last night after being on 5 mg for eight weeks I feel dizzy nauseous and headache is this normal and if so how long will it last

Hi SOPHIA, you were on a minuscule dose of Lexapro at 5mg. I had started out at 10.The normal amount of time for SSRIs is usually 4-6 weeks. However, because you already

had the medication in you, I wouldn't think it would take that long at all, maybe a couple weeks. Please keep your doctor informed in how you are feeling on the increased dosage.

He is the one who knows your health history and how your body will accept it.

stay with it! i started with 10mg, took 5-6 weeks to "feel normal". been life changer for me! good luck!!
