Lexapro : Anyone try lexapro? I know... - Anxiety Support
Lexapro
I’ve been therapy I got busy with my job I actually was really good for 2 years I would have episodes here and there but I was occupied 3 kids busy job it helped keep me occupied but I had some health issue in April and I’ve been spiraling downwards since I can’t get out of this hole (hence my name 🙃) I’m panicky now I had a full panic attack Tuesday that I can’t recover from every physical symptom anyone could have that matches heart attack or stroke or stomach cancer I have. Even tho nothing is wrong with me I’ve been to every dr but my mind won’t be convinced it’s constantly the plague!!
Yes the dr gave it to me he said the least side effects but who knows
I was on lexapro but I started gaining a ton of weight on it so I had to stop. Everyone responds differently though.
Lol I have spent days reading about it... not the best idea I was obsessed and now terrified to touch it!!
Here I am again Rabbithole.
When I weaned off my benzos, I was placed on Lexapro.
Have been on it several years now and find it to be a
good medication for anxiety issues. For me, I have no
side effects. No drowsiness. Feel good. I do have dry
mouth which comes with most of the psych meds.
Worth a try, you won't know unless you give it a go.
Good Luck, sounds like you can use a little something
to break that cycle of fear symptoms. xx
I have been on Lexapro 20mg for 10 years now. It helps a lot! I started taking it bc I had post partum depression with my first child. The only thing is, never just stop taking it!!!! The medication for me has worked great until my hormones decided to do what they want back in April of 2018, which left me in the psych ward for 7 days. Getting closer to finding out what’s going on after 7 months of extreme anxiety and panic attacks. It does take awhile for the medicine to work. I would start at a low dose and work ur way up if need. For awhile I had to have mine bumped up by 5mg, bc things got bad, but after 2 weeks of wheening off of the 5mg I am not feeling the withdrawals. I do like being on Lexapro. It really works for me and I have to terms if I live on this medication the rest of my life, then I am ok with that. It is nothing to be ashamed of. Some people have inhalers and some have other medication. I do like it, just be aware of how you are feeling and ask any questions about how you are feeling and not just to the dr but also the pharmacist, they tend to know in depth about medication.
What do you mean your hormones ? What happened
I’m curious as well.. was it the meds that did it to you?
Do not take paeoxetine. I have been taking it for over 5 years Now and it really helped at the beginning but then I started to feel even worse. I am currently tapering from it and it is just hell. If I knew about this medication more 5 years ago I definitely would not take it. But that is just my opinion.
Rabbit hole 3 of my family members just opened up to me and all 3 take lexepro and love it... 2 said no side affects at alll even when she stopped it and one said she had dry mouth.. that’s it.... my dr told me they help millions of people and we have to believe in them to work , she said almost all side affects are from what we’re created in the mind from being so scared of taking the med.. that’s why a lot are goven Xanax in the begging to help
