Stopped breathing

Hello had a bad experience last night whilst drifting off to sleep, I seemed to stop breathing for a second and got such a shock! Anyone experienced this! I am highly anxious at the moment, lost my dad 4 weeks ago and also having a bad asthma flare up. Started steroids for it yesterday, otherwise fit and healthy, am 47. Should I be concerned?

I have that. For me it’s sleep apnea. I’ve also had that sensation when drifting off to sleep before I got sleep apnea. You could easily talk to your doctor and find out if it’s something similar for you.

Get a sleep study test. Ask your doc to set it up. So sorry for the loss of your Dad.
