Hi .just an update on my husband . He had a chest x-ray and all came back clear 🙂he still has the lump but the doctor is convinced it's nothing sinister.the doctor examined him and said it is something to do with the cartledge ,he also said the x-ray would of picked up a tumour so good news their ...he is sending him for an ultrasound to find out why this has happened .he suffers with a curved spine at his neck joint anyway and he gets neck pain and shoulder pain anyways .so we can breath a little easier now but I still have it in the back of my mind and still worrying it could be something nasty ,I guess I have to trust the doctor and take on board what he has said ...his x-ray results are not back with the doctor yet but the x-ray lady who did the x-ray said all is clear and they havnt found anything urgent and the results will be back in a weeks time ....I hate this health anxiety I am so tired and worn out of worrying about everything that happens in life ,I have been like this since my teens it's exhausting ,I'm 62 and just wish I could change this health anxiety that has haunted me all my life ,I really don't know how iv got this far living with health anxiety I just want peace and as we all know life is not peaceful all the time ,just when I think iv got a hold on the health anxiety ,up it pops again to give me something else to fret and worry about .🤔🌹

Hi lynstone, thank you for updating us on your husband. As long as we keep Health Anxiety on the front burner, as you can

see throughout the years, it gets very tiring both mentally and physically.

At one time I was like you. I took on the worries of everyone and when it came

to myself....oh I was sent over the edge. Until one day I heard about retraining

the mind. We obsess over everything which doesn't help anything.

I learned to ask myself "does worrying and crying about health issues change it?"

The answer is "No".

The issue is already there, we can't change that. What we can change is our doom and

gloom outlook on everything and learn to trust in our doctor(s). Waiting with bated breath is another thing I stopped doing. After all, it is what it is.

Most results that I've worried about in the past have come back normal. A total waste

of energy and resources for nothing.

And those results that showed there was something wrong, I had it addressed and believed in that doctor and his training. By turning over our health issues to a professional, it can relieve us of unnecessary worry as well as keep our immune system

up.

Acceptance of things we can't control is important. Finding ways to reduce our stress and anxiety is also important. By keeping our emotional status at as even a keel as possible, it allows us in not going through these peaks and lows of stress. In that itself, can make you feel as if you have some control in your life. (emotionally)

Wish your husband well with the test results and any other required tests.

Take care of yourself :) xx
