Please anyone else found flupentixol helpful for anxiety and depression??
Hello
Sorry that no one seems to have experienced what you are asking at the moment and neither have I but one thing is all these medications work very similar and what suites one may not suit another but I always say we can give them a try as this might be the med for you and we are in control that if we find they do not suit us we can stop them and let our Doctors know and they can try us on something else
Let us know how you get on with them and it helps me as I have a med fear and at the moment have to take so many meds to tell myself it is just for today I am taking them somehow this helps that control over my fear and hope you might be able to do the same x
Thank you for answering. Yes I have a med fear too and get loads of side effects - this last 2 years I’ve taken over 18 which have all given me crippling side effects and I’ve had to come off....now I don’t know what helped a little and what didn’t so I don’t know what to revisit as I’m getting to that stage. I am terrible off but have been really well for 14 years on clomipramine but I can’t seem to get back on it at all as I have terrible agitation and pacing on it plus loads of other side effects. What are you on that helps? My main problem with my anxiety is agitation and I can’t seem to sit still and need to pace a lot and the meds seem to increase this...it’s been a nightmare. What are you on that helps and what with? Xxx
At the moment I have to be honest I am not taking any because of my heart but they want to put me on Sertraline after which they seem to highly think is a good one I sometimes wonder though how much is in our heads with these side effects because of our fears
My husband for example does not suffer with anxiety or depression but because of what we have been through the last 10 months regarding my health he did start to feel low went on a med and as he has no fear every time I asked are you not getting a side effect even though I thought he was as I noticed him sweating he would just say no
I think we have to try and stick them out a few months before we give in but it can be very hard for us when we are like we are x
I haven't tried flupentixol but you might try doing a psychopharmacological genetic test to see what meds are best suited for you genetically. It really helps take a lot of the guesswork out of the process. My test was from Genesight and there are other brands available too and was paid for by my insurance. After trying numerous meds over the years I got on one (pristiq) that was recommended on my test and it has worked.
Thanks I’ve had one - there weren’t any particular recommendations Just ones in white that seem to say would be most effective and didn’t say side effects - these were lamotrigine, desvenlafaxine, nefadazone and lithium. Desvenlafaxine has nefadazone aren’t available in the UK, lamotrigine I tried but was awful and lithium i daren’t try! I haven’t severe anxiety and panic which turned into depression x my test was Myogenes x
