hey guys. so my psychiatrist just put me on medication that i am starting tomorrow. i am going on lexapro (5mg) and hydroxyzine (only as needed). i’m really nervous to start it.
if anyone has used any of these medications can you please let me know any of the side effects you had? also how long did it take for you to notice a difference?

Hi lavender, I am on Lexapro and have been for a while.5 mg is an extremely low dose. He will build up slowly.
It's been a great medication for myself as well as many others
on this forum. Of course, we all react differently to meds.
My advice is to give it a chance to work. Keep in touch with your doctor
if you have any questions. It can take 4-6 weeks to reach full efficacy.

thank you so much! yes they did start me on a low dose so i can slowly work my way up to 10mg. i really appreciate your reply it was very beneficial💛😊
My girlfriend and her daughter are on it and love it. They also say no sexual side effects (big problem with SSRIS) I would try it but my problem is anxiety more than depression but I was also given hydroxyzine (as needed) for insomnia. This doesn't work as well as I hoped and a lot of times will make me feel loopy the next day but hopefully it'll work for you. I prefer alprazolam for sleep but that's a controlled substance and they're getting very stingy about prescribing it thanks to everyone that has abused it
