Head pressure and brain jerks, jolts, tremors and zaps and feeling like I could have a seizure or aneurism any second. I had a CT scan a couple months ago and it came back normal. I cannot have an MRI because I have a magnetic implant in my ear. I’ve tried to explain these symptoms to my doctor and neurologist and they said my symptoms didn’t make any sense. Can anxiety cause this?? Please tell me I’m not alone. I feel like I could have a tumor or something serious but I’ll never know until something happens to me. I hope the CT scan was enough to show that nothing is organically wrong.

Head sensations constantly
Yes. Anxiety causes all of these symptoms due to over-stimulation of your nervous system.
I made the mistake of googling brain zaps because I found an article that says they could be mild seizures and now I’m freaking out and convinced that I’m in danger
Please don’t google. It will only fuel your fear.
Have you seen the website anxietycentre.com? There is a wealth of information about health anxiety.
Thank you I’ve had GAD & health anxiety for a long time and I know a lot about it and I usually know better than to google my symptoms but the brain zaps are the scariest. I have cut back on Xanax and wine recently so I could be dealing with withdrawals on top of severe anxiety.
I’m sure that is probably part of it. One of the most detrimental aspect of anxiety disorders is it robs you of rationality. You know you are being irrational, but you can’t stop it. During a couple of crisis times in my life I’ve had brain zaps. For me it’s almost like a lightning bolt. Really scary.
Did you get them every few minutes or every few seconds over a period of hours or days? It used to only happen to me once in a while but now it’s constant.
PS: I sent you a DM if you would like to converse more easily. 😊
Hey Kelley, I'm praying these symptoms subside soon. Saraclara has been way further down this road than I. I think you should steal yourself for two parallel paths to relief here. A) Short Term and in the Moment. remind yourself that letting your anxious thoughts take control will only make things worse in the short term, try and lean in to the truth that the Dr's are telling you it's ok. B) Long Term. Find a Dr. that gives you a good explanation, be it a regular Dr or a Therapist. But as you search, remember that if your current Dr's are cool than you should be too--they're the pro's after all.Prayers friend.
Hi Kelly l know just what you mean when l was younger l had exactly the same l was plagued with all sorts of head sensations some were so frightening they would stop me in my tracks once while out with a friend a shooting pain went through my head so bad l nearly fell to my knees there was never a day when l was free of these different sensations going o so much so l requested a C.T scan consultant said there was nothing wrong l was still not convinced in the end l refused to go out anywhere because l was scared of what would happen but as time went on l became agoraphobia and just felt awfull so doctor put gave me some therapy for a few months cause my anxiety had manifested so bad l thought l had a brain tumour it was a terrible time but got through it in the end but anxiety can rule your life if you let it dont give in to it take care.
