Zoloft week 5 - Why did my anxiety roar back today? #Discouraged!!!

Week 5 Zoloft -Day 31 and my anxiety has been bad today and on and off yesterday. It felt like I was getting back to myself. I could dismiss thoughts and handle anxiety most days. My depressions from fighting anxiety for 4 months had lessened. I am on 50mg I struggled today and I am frustrated. I have slept most nights fine but awoke at 3:30 this morning and could not go back to sleep.

Any one else have these issues? I really do not want to go up in my dose. I finally went on Zoloft after fighting the anxiety almost 3 months. I have always over come anxiety and depression in the past with God's help. That includes battling most of 2008.

I love my wife and 4 kids and the people i minister to at Church but hate that this is stealing my joy!

The road to recovery is, unfortunately, paved with setbacks. You will have some bad days, but those bad days will get less and less as you progress. Try not to see them as negative events, simply milestones on the route.

There is light at the end of the tunnel, and no, it’s not a train coming the other way.

All the best to you. Wishing you a speedy and full recovery.

Oh that lovely anxiety loves to rear it’s ugly head out of no where. I would give it another week or two. I know easier said then done. You may want to go up to 75mg. I take 100mg. I would be lost with out it. Hang in there. My favorite saying is “This too shall pass”.

Was there anything different in your diet? Or do you take any other meds? Something different could have affected the enzyme metabolizing the ssri, or if you took any supplements or even otc's those could have an effect too. Look into genetic testing. It will give you info about your individual pharmacological profile. Genesight and Genomind are the top two.

I have had stomach issues and find when I eat to much junk it flares up. I just want to eat like i used to but I may need to just stick with healthy eating. At least I am losing weight instead of gaining on zoloft.

I have been taking 75mg myself and it is just a few days shy into week 5. I am also waking up at 5 am on the dot and anxiety has been creeping back. How much longer must I suffer?

I’m

Sorry. I know it is hard. That post I made was 2 years ago. I spent a year on Zoloft. The best I felt in that year was the last three months as I dropped from 50-25mg. However after 4 months on 50mg the anxiety was manageable . I have been off over a year and coming off was a struggle at times but I am doing pretty well now even in dealing with the same life stuff I was before without the meds. God is in your story. He has helped me along the way. Not saying I will never take meds again but I am where I am in my journey right now. Take this time as an opportunity to get healthier all around. I still am. I have a sleep test tonight in fact. Prayers for you.
