Can anyone say why a physician assistant will see you alone and then puts in their notes Dr. X was there for consultation and he wasn't even there. Seems odd they would say that.

Since I wanted to become a Physician's Assistant at one time, I can tell you that they always work under a doctor's direction. This is why his name is shown. xx

But if the doctor wasnt in room then took for the consult how could he know what I am like if he didn't check me over. Like I hurt my arm. Only one doctor in room but saying the physical was consulting? Am I interpreting it wrong?

It's a legality thing, sometimes insurance issues are involved.

The PA is well trained to handle cases on their own but do consult with

the doctor over them. xx

I guess I can see for insurance purposes. So the consulting is there in case a question or situation arises?

Definitely, they report to someone higher than them. xx

My Doctor trains interns in his office. They consult afterwards so maybe that's why.

But in an instance where the Doctor needs to see you he should also come in the room after their consultation.
