I recently got put on Prozac only 10 mg right now, but I was wondering if y’all have any thoughts on how it’s worked for you, and if y’all have had any side effects? I get very anxious about how I will feel on medication, I tend to dwell on the side effects and look for them in myself making myself more sick. If y’all have any suggestions on things to do and how the medicine has worked for you I would love to read what y’all think!

I have a med fear so pretty useless with this question
However I am getting closer to wondering if it is time to face this fear and try something as I certainly don't seem to handle my HA especially at the moment
I know my Mum took them though and she could not speak more highly of them at the time I remember her saying she wished she had took them years ago and she never seemed to have any troubles with side effects , so I hope you may be able to find the courage to give them a go and I hope they make you feel as good as I know they made my Mum feel
I know the feeling of being scared to take medication. I took myself off for four years but in that time I found myself struggling worse than ever and finally made the decision that a little bit of medication may give me that extra nudge I need to be able to operate better day to day. Thank you for the reply it means a lot to me!
I’m on day three and compared to my last medicine it is so much better. I’m feeling more myself and I’m returning to work tomorrow! It is just putting faith in believing the medication will help you and trying to keep that positive mind set!
I know they can take a few weeks or even longer to get the full effect from them but if you are only on day 3 and feeling slightly better that is a good sign that it looks like they are working
They do work for so many and there is no reason why they won't for you , our anxiety likes to tell us otherwise but these meds will soon let it know it is no longer in control you have gained control back
Good luck with work tomorrow , I hope you have a really good day x
I was on Prozac for years but like the rest of them, it didn't work. My mom was on it for years and it saved her life. The only negative for her was that she could no longer cry because of the medication. The older anti-depressants seem to work better than the newer ones and cause the least amount of side effects. You may find that you feel nauseous at first but that side effect does go away in a few days. I hope this helps.
Thank you for writing! Ok I have heard that you can’t cry from a lot of people and I have noticed that a little bit in myself! So strange...hope it goes away! I was on Zoloft for years and it helped a ton I’ve heard Prozac is similar so I’m hoping Prozac will work for me as well! I hope you find something to help you feel better as well! Again thanks for replying, I appreciate it so much!
Let me know how well it works for you and I'm praying that you don't have that horrible side effect. Unfortunately so many medications take away our "feelings" And we all need to cry!!! Everyone starts out at 10mg and some people can go up to as much as 60 mg but the usual is 10 to 20., I have been tested and unfortunately I do not do well on medications. They either do not work or I have horrible side effects. My med now is my fur baby, Molly!!
I noticed yesterday I couldn’t cry and I found that extremely strange but hopefully once it regulates I will be able to! I’ve only been on it for three days so we will see how it goes! Yes I’m not looking to be on more that 20 mg! And fur babies are the BEST medicine, I have a little pug named Tilly and she is everything to me!
Oh how cute!! My Anny was a Chihuhua/Pug mix but I lost her after 16 1/2 years. I now have my crazy Jack Russell named Mollyann. They ARE the best. I sure hope you can cry. That sounds strange but you know what I mean. LOL
Thank you for your response! Yes I have a bad problem with google lol 🙃 I have not looked up the side effects of Prozac just because I KNOW I would look for them and make myself sick with worry! I am switching my mindset to believing the medication will help me and not hurt me! Thank you again! I’ll keep y’all updated!
